OSRS Halloween Event 2025 Guide – Harvest Hollow Event, Spook-a-thon Quest and Rewards Walkthrough

Old School RuneScape 2025 Halloween Harvest Hollow and Spook-a-thon event guide showing quest locations, spooky NPCs, and exclusive seasonal rewards.

The 2025 Halloween event in Old School RuneScape has launched on October 13, 2025 under the name Harvest Hollow / Spook-a-thon Decoration Contest, and runs until November 10, 2025. During this period, both free-to-play and members accounts can participate in seasonal quests, mini-activities, and collect spooky cosmetics and rewards.

Below is a step-by-step walkthrough and tips to maximize your spooky haul.

Getting Started: Accessing the Event Hub

As mentioned by Protoxx in the YouTube video titled A guide to the 2025 Halloween Event:

  • Use the Events Portal in Burthorpe (or via the Events Tab) to teleport to Harvest Hollow.
  • Alternatively, use the Community teleport or Lodestone teleport methods.
  • Note: Some parts of the event are locked behind the new “Guys and Dolls” seasonal quest (see below).

Seasonal Quest: Guys and Dolls

This short quest unlocks full access to Harvest Hollow’s new content.

Requirements

  • Red, blue, green, and purple dyes (available on Grand Exchange)
  • An ancient torso (which you can obtain from Archaeology “mystery remains” hotspots)
  • You may also need to have completed the Necromancy tutorial to access certain areas.

Steps

  1. Speak to Guy (a ghost NPC near the bonfire) to begin the quest.
  2. Head to Dolly, located near Sovereign Docks (south of loadstone), and present the dyes.
  3. Return to Guy, then talk to Doyle (a scarecrow near the pumpkin patch). You must click the cart and then talk to Doyle again.
  4. Choose the option to hand over the ancient torso, which scares off crows.
  5. Return to Guy for final dialogue and you’ll be rewarded with a pet and full access to the event.

Once you finish Guys and Dolls, all the main Harvest Hollow activities unlock.

Walkthrough: Classic Spook-a-thon / Decoration Contest

As highlighted in the reddit post Halloween Event details from the RS Newsletter:

  1. Talk to Farmer Fred (north-west of Lumbridge) to start the event.
  2. Speak with Seth Gro (east across the Lumbridge river) to receive a spooky picture.
  3. Go to Draynor Manor, pick up a spooky chair (a moving chair inside).
  4. Head to Sarah at the south Falador farm, perform a dance emote among the cows to entertain them, then return for a spooky scarecrow.
  5. From there, enter Death’s Domain via Lumbridge cemetery, answer his quiz (answers: 31 Oct / pumpkins / coven / dark wizards / trick or treat), and receive a spooky wall lamp.
  6. Return to Fred; he’ll ask for a spooky pumpkin lantern as a centerpiece.
  7. Travel to Diango in Draynor Village while wearing at least three Halloween themed clothing items (he can sell or provide them) to get the spooky pumpkin lantern.
  8. Return to Fred while equipped with the spooky lantern + three Halloween items, and finalize the event.

Upon completion, you’ll receive various rewards (see below).

Harvest Hollow: New Activities & Token Farming

As highlighted in the YouTube video Halloween Event Guide 2025 OSRS posted by OneWish, beyond the seasonal quest and decoration contest, Harvest Hollow brings six skilling / mini-activities (two brand new this year) to farm Spooky Tokens.

ActivityWhat You Do / TipsToken Rate (approx)
Firemaking (new)Burn logs matching the bonfire’s color. Even if mismatch, you still get tokens & XP. Use any logs to AFK.~4,400 tokens/hr (non-optimized)
Farming (pumpkins)Clear patch, scare crows (via Doyle), deposit via cart. Use “mass scare” every two runs.~11,250 tokens/hr
Archaeology / ExcavationDig mystery remains, get ancient remains and artifacts, fill collection logs.~12,000+ tokens/hr
SummoningKeep candles lit in a summoning circle building; very AFK friendly.~8,000 tokens/hr
Thieving (mausoleums / coffins)Loot glowing mausoleums/coffins, get ancient valuables, turn them in to Pekish.~10,000–11,000 tokens/hr
Maize’s MazeRun the maze, avoid monsters, collect bone clubs, defeat boss to unlock pet skins / masks.~800 tokens per completion + bonus loot

Tips:

  • Activities are semi-AFK, so combine with other tasks when possible.
  • Tokens gained from any activity can be used in the event shop (via trade with Rainol).
  • You’ll also collect Clan Confections in your inventory; handing them to the “Cough” NPC yields extra rewards.
  • Every Sunday at 8:00 PM game time, a clan ceremony occurs; even if you’re offline, claim rewards later.
  • New cosmetic this year: a sparkler (wieldable) via ceremony, and a burning skin for the Wendle pet by exchanging 75 confections.

Rewards You Can Earn

From completing the seasonal quest, the decorations contest, and token shop, you can earn:

  • Grim Reaper Top, Bottoms, Gloves
  • Spooky Pumpkin Lantern
  • Spooky Chair (it can spin and follow you for 10 seconds)
  • 2 noted Pumpkins
  • 2 noted Red / Green / Blue Halloween Masks each
  • Previous Halloween cosmetics (redeemable via Diango)
  • Pets, overrides, unique masks / boss pet skins from Maze
  • Sparkler cosmetic, Wendle pet burning skin, etc.

These rewards are the same or upgraded versions of what was announced in the official wiki page for the 2025 Halloween event “Spook-a-thon Decoration Contest.”

Pro Tips & Common Pitfalls

  • Wear 3+ Halloween items when obtaining the spooky pumpkin lantern from Diango, or it won’t be granted.
  • Make sure you complete the dialogue after picking up each item – if Fred doesn’t recognize them, the event won’t conclude properly.
  • Use high-token-yield activities first to unlock more purchases quickly.
  • Always do the seasonal quest “Guys and Dolls” early to unlock the hub fully.
  • On Sundays, participate (or claim later) in clan ceremonies for extra goodies.
  • Plan route and combine activities: farming + archaeology runs mixed with thieving gives best time efficiency.
  • Maze rewards (masks / pet skins) are weekly rotating (boss changes weekly).

Conclusion

The 2025 OSRS Halloween event is rich in both nostalgia and fresh content. From the classic Spook-a-thon questline (Fred, Seth, Sarah, Death, Diango) to the brand new Harvest Hollow skilling activities, there’s plenty to do whether you’re chasing cosmetics, tokens, or just spooky fun.

Follow the quest path first (Guys and Dolls → decorations → token shop), then devote time to token farming via Firemaking, Archaeology, Thieving, Maze, etc. Don’t forget the weekly clan ceremonies and redeemed rewards from confections.
