How to Catch the Rainbow Leviathan in Fisch: Full Shamrock Seas Event Guide

The Shamrock Seas event in Fisch is one of the most content-rich limited-time updates the game has seen. Running from March 14 to March 21, 2026, it brings with it new fish, moving quest boats, server-wide luck mechanics, and the Rainbow Leviathan, arguably the most talked-about catch of the event. If you are trying to track this fish down, complete Sno’s quests, or understand how the Lucky Gold system works, this guide covers everything you need to know.

What Is the Rainbow Leviathan?

The Rainbow Leviathan is a limited-time event fish introduced as part of the Shamrock Seas bestiary in Fisch version 1.75. The Shamrock Seas event ran from March 14, 2026, to March 21, 2026, and featured a new event area with new NPCs, unique quests, and event fish. The Rainbow Leviathan sits at the heart of this update. It is not just a trophy catch; it is directly tied to multiple NPC quests and serves as a gateway to some of the event’s best rewards.

One important distinction to understand before you start fishing: Shamrock is a variant, not a mutation. When a hunt spawns, there is a chance that the creature will appear as a Shamrock version. The same logic applies to the Rainbow Leviathan. It is a variant tied to specific event conditions, not something you can force through bait or rod stats alone.

How to Spawn the Lucky Gold Abundance (Where the Rainbow Leviathan Lives)

The Rainbow Leviathan cannot be caught in open water. It only appears inside a special fishing pool called the Lucky Gold Abundance. Here is exactly how that works:

  • The Lucky Rainbow has a 25% chance to spawn every 15 minutes globally, and is where its Pot o’ Gold is spawned. Interacting with the Pot o’ Gold rewards 500 to 2,500 C$ and one Gold Coin.
  • By interacting with a Pot o’ Gold 5 times, the Lucky Gold Abundance spawns, and is where the Rainbow Leviathan can be caught. During a Lucky Gold Abundance, the hunting pool is marked by the end of the rainbow. On the Fish Radar, the pool is indicated as gold. The Lucky Gold Abundance lasts for 5 minutes.

When the Lucky Rainbow appears, you will receive a server-wide notification telling you exactly where it has landed. When it appears, you will receive a server-wide notification and the Event section tab saying “The Lucky Rainbow has appeared near the X island.” Hop on your boat and go straight to that island to find a large Rainbow near its vicinity.

Keep in mind that other players can swoop in and steal the Gold Coins from the pot, so you might want to consider doing these quests in private servers.

The Golden Rainbow Leviathan: The Rare Variant

Beyond the standard Rainbow Leviathan, there is an even rarer version called the Golden Rainbow Leviathan. This is required for Sno’s second quest and is significantly harder to obtain.

There is a 10% chance to replace a Lucky Rainbow, and that is where its Golden Pot o’ Gold is spawned. By interacting with a Golden Pot o’ Gold 5 times, the Golden Lucky Gold Abundance spawns, and is where the Golden Rainbow Leviathan can be caught. During a Golden Lucky Gold Abundance, the hunting pool is marked by the end of the rainbow. On the Fish Radar, the pool is indicated as gold. The Golden Lucky Gold Abundance lasts for 5 minutes.

In short, the Golden Lucky Rainbow is a rare replacement for the standard event, appearing only 10% of the time. When it does show up, the pot becomes a golden version with improved rewards, and the Golden Rainbow Leviathan becomes catchable in the resulting pool. Because this version appears so infrequently, patience and server awareness are essential.

Sno’s Quests: Why the Rainbow Leviathan Matters

One of the first things any player should do when the Shamrock Seas event begins is head to Boreal Pines to find Leprechaun Snow, commonly called Sno. Inside a small cabin in Boreal Pines you will find Leprechaun Snow. Snow gives a series of quests tied to the St. Patrick’s event. The first task he gives is to catch a Rainbow Leviathan, which is part of the new Shamrock Seas limited bestiary.

To reach Boreal Pines, you will have to travel through the portal at Northern Expedition. Do not forget to bring your Winter Cloak for this journey; if you do not, you will die as soon as you set foot at the destination. Sno can be found at coordinates X: 21823.8, Y: 135.8, Z: 4446.6.

Here is a breakdown of all four of Sno’s quests:

Quest 1: Catch one Rainbow Leviathan. The rewards for doing this are five Clover Clusters and three Glitched Potions.

Quest 2: Catch one Golden Rainbow Leviathan. When finishing this quest, aside from ten Clover Clusters, you will also receive an amazing ship as a reward called the Shamrock Leviathan, with a speed of 255 studs per second, 27 degrees of steering, and 0.3 studs per second acceleration.

Quest 3: Catch one Shamrock Leviathan. If you want to complete the third quest, you will have to catch and bring one Shamrock Leviathan back to Sno. The hardest part of doing this will be to actually spawn in the Leviathan, as Shamrock is a Mutation. This means you will have to fish in the Sanctum, and equipping the best possible rods and baits is essential. Enchanting your rod with Ferocious and Vicious will also greatly help. Keep in mind that there is a 25% chance for a normal Leviathan to become Shamrock upon spawning.

Upon completing Quest 3, Sno will reward you with a Lucky Cloverblade, which is a skin for the Fallen Snowblade. Equipping it will turn the entirety of the blade green, as well as give it a clover aura.

Quest 4: Catch one Lucky Gold Frostwyrm. The best way to catch this one is to fish in the cave in front of Boreal Pines and use a rod with high Disturbance. The Igneous Rupturer rod works best for this. Also, equip your Clover Cluster Baits. The reward for finishing this quest is 20 Clover Clusters.

You have to catch the Rainbow Leviathan on your own. You cannot simply have one in your inventory that another player gave to you.

Best Rods and Baits for Catching the Rainbow Leviathan

Since the Rainbow Leviathan only spawns inside a timed five-minute pool, efficiency is everything. You want rods that maximize luck and resilience to avoid breaking your line.

The best rods to finish the Shamrock Seas Bestiary include No Life, Oniflarx, Rod of Glorp, and anything with a high resilience and luck rating.

One of the standout event-specific tools is the Clover Cluster bait, which you can earn from leprechaun quests on the Shamrock Express. As described in the video guide, Clover Cluster bait carries 220 preferred luck, 170 universal luck, 5 resilience, 25 lure speed, and a 50% chance for the Lucky Gold mutation. This bait is particularly valuable when targeting Lucky Gold versions of event fish, including the Golden Rainbow Leviathan.

The Leprechaun Line rod, earned by completing all 12 leprechaun quests on the Shamrock Express, is also worth mentioning. Its passive ability gives a 10% chance for the Lucky Gold mutation. Every time you catch a fish with the Lucky Gold mutation using this rod, you trigger a server luck boost, which can stack multiple times and benefit everyone in the session.

The Shamrock Express and Leprechaun Quests

The Shamrock Express is a moving boat that travels across the entire map. Plenty of leprechauns are on board searching for loot. Talk to them to help them out for a large variety of potential rewards. There are 12 leprechaun quests in total, each asking for specific event fish or items and rewarding players with Clover Clusters, luck potions, four-leaf clovers, and cosmetics.

Several of these quests specifically call for Lucky Gold versions of the Rainbow Leviathan or Fortune Flounder, making the Lucky Gold pool even more important to visit repeatedly. Leprechaun Logan, for example, asks for one Lucky Gold Fortune Flounder and one Lucky Gold Rainbow Leviathan. Completing his quest rewards one Luck Potion, three Clover Clusters, and one pair of Lucky Gloves.

Finishing all 12 quests unlocks the Clover Captain’s final quest, which in turn rewards the Leprechaun Line rod.

Four-Leaf Clovers and Gold Coins: Supporting Mechanics

While hunting for the Rainbow Leviathan, two other collectables are worth keeping an eye on.

Four-Leaf Clovers spawn naturally on green islands across the map. Natural clovers are rarely found around every green island. Players can spot and pick them to keep them, and consuming clovers grants server luck boosts. Consuming one clover grants two times server luck, and stacking multiple clovers multiplies the effect further, benefiting every player on the server.

Gold Coins drop from the Pot o’ Gold during Lucky Rainbow events. As the video guide explains, holding one out and consuming it gives a 25% sell rate boost for 30 seconds, and stacking multiple coins adds time to that timer. This makes them especially useful to save and use right before selling a large inventory.

Gold coins are obtained primarily from the Pot of Gold during rainbow events. When used, they provide a temporary 25% currency boost for about 30 seconds when selling items. Because of this, players often save several coins before selling large inventories.

Tips for Maximising Your Time During the Event

The Shamrock Seas event only lasts one week, and the Lucky Gold pool where the Rainbow Leviathan spawns is on a timer. Here are a few practical pointers to make the most of your time:

  • Start Sno’s first quest as early as possible so you can work on it passively while exploring the rest of the event.
  • Because the event only lasts one week and the Rainbow only appears every 45 minutes, prioritise staying near event locations or monitoring your alerts closely.
  • Stock up on Clover Cluster bait from leprechaun quests before attempting Lucky Gold pool runs.
  • Consider using a private server to guarantee no other players steal Gold Coins from the Pot o’ Gold.
  • Equip Ferocious and Vicious rod enchantments before heading to The Sanctum for Shamrock Leviathan hunts.
  • Keep four-leaf clovers in reserve for moments when you need maximum luck on a Lucky Gold pool run.
