Roblox Plus Subscription – Price, Benefits, Free Private Servers, and What Happens to Premium

Roblox has officially announced its next big step in platform evolution, and it is one that directly impacts every player and creator on the platform. Starting April 30, Roblox Plus launches as a new subscription available globally for $4.99 USD per month, designed for the platform’s most engaged users and packed with exclusive platform benefits. This is not just a minor update. Roblox Premium, which has been around for years, is being phased out, and Roblox Plus is its replacement with a completely different value proposition.

What Is Roblox Plus?

Roblox Plus is a new subscription that offers savings on activities users already value, making the everyday Roblox experience more rewarding. At $4.99 per month, it undercuts what most players were already spending on Premium tiers while delivering a noticeably broader set of benefits. The subscription is available globally and is built with both casual players and heavy spenders in mind.

Roblox’s Chief Business Officer Enrico D’Angelo stated that Roblox Plus is designed to reward the platform’s most engaged users while ensuring that creators continue to benefit as the platform grows.

All the Benefits of Roblox Plus

Here is a breakdown of everything subscribers get from day one:

  • Instant 10% discount: Players get 10% off in-game items, avatars, and more instantly. The discount doubles to 20% off in month three and onward, rewarding continued membership. This discount is covered by Roblox, not creators, so the economics of the platform remain healthy.
  • Free unlimited private servers: Subscribers will have access to free and unlimited private servers across all supported games, giving them more control over who they play with. This alone is a huge perk for players who regularly host or join private sessions.
  • Free Robux transfers: For the first time, Roblox is introducing direct Robux transfers with no transaction fees. Sending is an exclusive Plus subscriber benefit, while recipients do not need to be on Plus. For younger users, parental approval is required every time Robux is sent or received.
  • Marketplace access: Subscribers can trade and resell limited avatar items, as well as publish and sell items on the Roblox Marketplace, opening the door to participation in the creator economy.
  • Exclusive profile badge: Subscribers will also receive a distinct badge on their profiles, with additional features and benefits planned following launch.

The Monthly Robux Question

One thing worth clarifying upfront is that Roblox Plus is a benefits-only monthly subscription with no monthly stipend included at the base price. This is different from how Roblox Premium worked, where a Robux allowance was baked in. However, optional bundles are coming. Soon after launch, Roblox will offer multiple optional bundles called Plus 500, Plus 1000, and 2000. Each bundle includes a Roblox Plus subscription and either 500, 1,000, or 2,000 Robux recurring monthly, offering a convenient way to pay once for both.

What This Means for Creators

Roblox has been careful to structure Roblox Plus so that creators do not lose income as a result of subscriber discounts. While subscribers receive a 10% or 20% discount on in-game items and avatars, Roblox will cover the discounts, meaning creators continue to earn the same amount as they do today on any individual purchase. Beyond maintaining existing earnings, there are new ways for creators to make money tied directly to Plus.

  • Sign-up bonuses: Creators will be rewarded for every player who becomes a Plus subscriber within their game via the PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API. They earn a bonus of 250 Robux per month for the subscriber’s first three consecutive months, up to 750 Robux per newly acquired Plus subscriber.
  • Private server earnings: Roblox will pay creators when Plus subscribers spend 60 or more cumulative minutes over a 30-day period in a game’s paid private servers, up to 100 Robux per subscriber. For each subscriber, Roblox considers the top five paid private servers where that user spent the most qualifying time.

These systems give creators a direct financial reason to encourage their player base to sign up for Roblox Plus, turning the subscription into a shared incentive across the platform.

What Happens to Roblox Premium?

With the rollout of Roblox Plus, Roblox will no longer offer new sign-ups for Roblox Premium. Existing Premium members can continue their membership and can opt into a free one-month trial of Roblox Plus that they can stack on top of their existing subscription.

For those who stay on Premium, some things are changing. What stays the same includes receiving monthly Robux, the ability to trade items, and the ability to publish avatar items and keep them on sale. What changes is that the 10% bonus on Robux purchases will end, and the Premium logo will be removed. These updates take effect on May 30, 2026.

It is also worth noting that users are able to have both a Roblox Plus and a Premium membership subscription active at the same time, at least for the time being.

Is Roblox Plus Worth It?

At $4.99 a month, the value proposition of Roblox Plus is genuinely strong compared to what Roblox Premium was offering at higher price points. The discount system alone, particularly the 20% discount that kicks in after three months, has real financial weight for players who regularly spend Robux on game passes, avatar items, and developer products. Add in free private servers and fee-free Robux transfers, and this subscription covers three things players have historically had to pay extra for or go without.

Since 2021, Roblox has reportedly been responsible for over 60% of the games industry’s net growth in consumer spending outside of China, and Roblox Plus looks like the platform’s way of formalizing that engagement into a sustainable subscription model that works for players and creators alike.
