Legionnaire Lamprey in Fisch Roblox: How to Trigger the Hunt and Catch the Exotic

The Legionnaire Lamprey is one of the most sought-after catches in Roblox Fisch right now, and for good reason. It is an Exotic rarity fish found in Bellona’s Frenzy of War, described in the game as a monstrous armored lamprey with broken weapons embedded through its flesh like trophies of war — a creature that, as its lore goes, is said to appear only when the waters become truly merciless. Beyond being a collectible, catching this fish is tied directly to one of the most important progression milestones in the current update. Here is everything you need to know to get it.

What Is the Legionnaire Lamprey and Why Does It Matter

Bellona’s Frenzy of War is the first layer of the Wrath of Olympus expansion beneath Atlantis in Roblox Fisch, containing 12 unique fish needed for a full Bestiary completion. The Legionnaire Lamprey is the only Exotic fish in this layer and cannot be caught through normal fishing.

Its importance goes beyond the Bestiary. To obtain the Legionnaire Aegis Fragment — the final of five Shield Fragments required for shield completion — you must catch the Legionnaire Lamprey during its hunt. Two Shield Fragments can be picked up on the ground: one has a 1 in 100 drop chance from normal fishing, one has a 1 in 200 drop chance from a War Surge Event, and the last one is locked behind catching this Exotic. This makes the Lamprey a non-negotiable step for anyone working through the Wrath of Olympus questline.

How to Reach Bellona’s Frenzy of War

Before you can even attempt to catch the Lamprey, you need to get to the right location. Sail to Grand Reef at GPS coordinates (-3554.2, 143.3, 472.2) and jump into the black hole at its center to teleport to Atlantis. Once inside, equip Advanced Diving Gear or a Water Bubble for oxygen protection, then head to the circular water pool at the center and dive down into the Kraken Pool. Follow the cracks at the bottom, and you will be teleported into Bellona’s Frenzy of War. A cutscene plays on your first visit.

All 12 fish in the Bestiary can be caught from the same fishing pool at GPS (-9021, -2307, 420), so you will not need to move between spots once you arrive.

Understanding the War Surge Event

The Legionnaire Lamprey does not spawn under normal conditions. A War Surge has a chance to occur naturally via disturbance within the area, and it is the only time when the Bloodied Aegis Shard can be found. During this event, the pool will glow red. This red glow is the visual signal you need to watch for. If the water is not red, you cannot get the Lamprey, no matter how long you fish there.

The War Surge Event can happen anytime inside Bellona’s Frenzy of War. Check your global chat or watch for the arena shaking to confirm the event has started. The timing feels random, though intervals of around 20 to 30 minutes or longer between events have been observed. There is no reliable way to predict exactly when it will trigger, which is what makes it demanding.

Importantly, the War Surge event may not be spawned using Sundial Totems. You cannot force it externally — patience and presence in the area are your only tools. Using a rod with a high disturbance stat, such as the Falcon, can help trigger the event more quickly through natural disturbance buildup.

Triggering the Legionnaire Lamprey Hunt

A War Surge alone does not make the Lamprey appear. There is an additional step. Once a War Surge is active, you need to perfect catch 25 fish to spawn the Legionnaire Lamprey Hunt. The Lamprey then becomes visible in the pool and can be hooked. After someone catches it, the hunt ends immediately.

This means the moment the water turns red, you should start fishing as fast as possible and focus on landing perfect catches. Every second of that event window counts, and missing it means waiting for the next War Surge to begin the cycle again.

The Legionnaire Lamprey Hunt can also be spawned by perfect catching 25 fish during a War Surge, and the hunt lasts for a limited time. After a player has caught the Legionnaire Lamprey, the hunt will automatically end.

The Reeling Minigame and Boss Fight

Hooking the Lamprey is only half the battle. When hooked, a -90% forced progress speed is applied. While fishing, any of three types of attacks can occur on the control bar: a sword that spawns and after one second attacks either left or right, and a falling sword that marks an area red before dropping into it after approximately two seconds. If the control bar hits any of these, progress is lost.

War Surge also amplifies the area’s biting mechanic. Fish gain a 25% chance per movement to bite, reducing reeling progress by 25% and shrinking the Control bar by 12% for two seconds. Area shakes also hit harder, cutting reeling progress by 6%. Stay focused and prioritize dodging these attacks over anything else.

Catching the Legionnaire Lamprey for the first time triggers a boss fight — a dodge-based minigame where you must survive incoming arrows and swords for about one minute. Warning indicators appear before each attack, giving you a brief window to react. Completing this fight breaks the Divine Seal at the center of the layer, unlocking access to the second layer, Apollo’s Song of Light. The boss fight only needs to be completed once.

Best Rods to Use

Rod choice matters a lot for this hunt. The best rods to use in Bellona’s Frenzy of War are the Blade of Glorp, Ice Wrapers, No-Life, and Brick Rod. These rods provide strong resilience and control stats that help counteract the progress loss from bites and area shakes.

The Fabulous Rod is also suitable for this hunt due to its efficiency boost during events. However, it requires reaching a high level before you can equip it. If you are not there yet, stick with the rods listed above and grind toward it in the background.

Tips for Surviving the Grind

Getting the Legionnaire Lamprey is not something you can rush. Here are the key things to keep in mind:

  • Stay in Bellona’s Frenzy of War and do not leave. The War Surge triggers through disturbance buildup, and being present is what makes it happen.
  • Watch global chat actively. It will announce when a War Surge starts, giving you a heads-up to switch into fishing mode immediately.
  • Focus on perfect catches the moment War Surge begins. You need 25 of them to spawn the hunt, and the event window is limited.
  • Do not panic during the reeling minigame. The -90% progress speed means the bar moves slowly, but the sword attacks can undo your work fast. Read the indicators and dodge first.
  • Even if you do everything right, the drop is not guaranteed on the first hunt. The best strategy is to stay active in the zone and be ready to pivot to perfect catches the moment an event starts. You cannot pre-stage the Lamprey Hunt.

What You Unlock After Catching It

Three Royal Guard statues in the area each offer a quest. Completing all three, plus achieving 100% Bestiary completion, unlocks the ability to purchase Bellona’s Waraxe for 5,000,000 C$. Its stats include 65% Lure Speed, 150% Luck, 2 Control, and 40% Resilience. Catching the Legionnaire Lamprey also drops the Legionnaire’s Aegis Shard, the final piece needed to complete the Shield Fragment collection and advance further in the Wrath of Olympus storyline.

Filling out all 12 entries in Bellona’s Frenzy of War Bestiary grants the Stone Claymore Bobber, 10,000 C$, and 50,000 XP. The Legionnaire Lamprey is the last and hardest entry in that list, so landing it completes the entire layer.

This is a grind that rewards consistency above all else. Show up, watch the water, and be ready when it turns red.
