All Roblox Elementalism Traits Explained: Common and Rare Traits Guide

Traits are one of the most important passive systems in Elementalism, the Roblox RPG that lets you master elements and build your ideal combat style. Whether you are just starting or looking to reroll for something stronger, understanding every Trait in the game is essential. This guide covers how Traits work, how to get and change them, and a full breakdown of every Common and Rare Trait available.

What Are Traits in Elementalism?

In Elementalism, you can equip Traits to get passive buffs that increase the stats of your character. Think of them as a permanent modifier that shapes the kind of fighter you are. You already spawn with one, and it is always only improvements to things you have, can do, or can acquire. There are currently two tiers: Common and Rare. Rare Traits tend to offer more impactful bonuses, but some of the Common Traits can be excellent depending on your playstyle and element.

How to Get and Reroll Traits

When you start playing the game, you will automatically get a random Trait. If you decide you want to change that Trait, you will have to go and talk to the Essentia NPC, who will allow you to reroll for a new Trait. She is located in the Spiritual World.

Getting to the Spiritual World is its own task, and there are two ways to do it:

  • You can enter the Spiritual World from a portal that will randomly spawn on the map; the portal will look like a beam of light.
  • The most reliable way to reach the Spirit World is by getting your Spirituality to 75. Once you do, you unlock the ability to teleport to the Spirit World by simply meditating for a short time.

The Spirit World is where you can find various quests, cosmetic changes, and other useful NPCs. Essentia, the red spirit responsible for Trait rerolls, is one of the most visited NPCs in the entire game. She can reroll your Trait for a high price, so make sure you have enough Aureus saved before committing to a reroll.

All Common Traits

Common Traits are the ones you are most likely to start with. So far, there are only two types of Traits in the game: Common and Rare. While Common Traits are not as flashy as their Rare counterparts, several of them are genuinely useful depending on how you play.

Here is a look at all the Common Traits and what they do:

  • Tank: -3 run speed, -25 energy, +10 health. A straightforward survivability pick that sacrifices mobility for extra durability.
  • Light: +3 run speed, -5 health. Great for players who rely on staying mobile and dodging hits.
  • Spiritual: +10% Spirituality exp from meditation. Excellent for players who want to unlock the Spiritual World faster.
  • Prodigy: +10% Mastery exp from meditation. Useful early on for leveling up your chosen element quickly.
  • Bargainer: +20% Aureus from quests and +5% Aureus from selling items. A strong economy Trait for players who prioritize farming currency.
  • Trader: +10% Aureus from selling to collectors and +5% Aureus from quests. A more balanced economic Trait.
  • Berserker: +4% damage increase, -5 health. A risk-reward option for aggressive players.
  • Relentless: +100 energy, -5 health. Ideal for builds that need a lot of energy to keep using skills.
  • Disciplined: +5% Mastery and Spirituality exp from meditation. A hybrid of Spiritual and Prodigy that is solid for newer players.

All Rare Traits

Rare Traits are significantly more powerful, and some are locked behind specific class or element requirements. Note that some Traits are class-locked. Landing one of the stronger Rare Traits can define your build entirely, especially the element-specific ones.

Here is every Rare Trait currently in the game:

  • Deadeye: +10% speed for any projectiles, -2% damage. Niche but useful for ranged builds.
  • Glassblade: +10% damage, -12 health. One of the best damage Traits in the game, though it comes at a steep health cost.
  • Slayer: +3% damage, +3% fighting style damage, and +3% weapon damage. A well-rounded offensive Trait that benefits nearly any combat build.
  • Weaponmaster: +10% weapon damage. A straightforward pick for weapon-focused fighters.
  • Ironfists (Fighter Class Required): +15% fighting style damage. One of the strongest class-locked Traits, making it a top priority for Fighter class players.
  • Acrobatic (Ninja Class Required): +2 run speed, +5 jump power, +5% weapon damage, +5% fighting style damage, and +10% energy block chance. A well-rounded and highly desirable Trait for Ninja class players.

Element-Specific Rare Traits

Several Rare Traits are locked to players who have chosen a specific element. These are among the most powerful modifiers in the game and are worth targeting if you know your element of choice.

  • Bedrock (Earth): +7% earth damage. A straightforward but reliable damage boost for Earth users.
  • Ignite (Fire): +10% burning chance and +2% fire damage.
  • Fiery (Fire): +7% fire damage and +2% burning chance. A more serious passive damage pick for Fire users compared to Ignite.
  • Blueflame (Fire): Enables Blue Fire, +4% fire damage, and +6% burning chance. The most unique Fire Trait, as it adds a visual and mechanical change to your flames.
  • Galeforce (Air): +10% knockback for Air Skills and +5% Air damage. A great Trait for Air element players who want to control space in fights.
  • Healer (Water): +25% Healing Stream efficiency and -5% water cost for water skills. An excellent support-oriented Trait for Water users.
  • Bloody (Water): Grants the ability to control blood at any phase of the moon, and at day as well if you have Blood Mastery.
  • Tidebound (Water): -15% water cost of Water Skills and +5% water damage. A solid all-around option for Water element players who spam skills.
  • Terran (Earth): +8% Boulder Toss effect chance and +4% earth damage.

Which Traits Should You Aim For?

Your ideal Trait depends entirely on your class and element. If you are running the Fighter class, Ironfists is almost non-negotiable. Ninja players should chase Acrobatic for its all-around bonuses. For element-focused builds, always prioritize the element-specific Rare Traits as they offer bonuses that directly strengthen your kit. General damage dealers will find Glassblade or Slayer to be the most impactful non-restricted options. If you are still grinding early progression, Spiritual or Prodigy can speed up how fast you unlock things and should not be underestimated.

Since rerolling costs a significant amount of Aureus, it is worth deciding on your playstyle before spending resources at Essentia. Plan your class and element combo first, then target the Trait that fits it best.
