The Companions update in Roblox Fisch dropped on April 25, 2026, and it has completely changed the way we approach the game. This major update introduced the Companion Satchel alongside 10 brand-new pets, each with different quirks and personalities. If you have been grinding Fisch for a while, this is the update that finally rewards your patience with something more than just coins. In this guide, we walk you through everything you need to know, from how the system works to the exact location of every companion in the game.
What Are Companions in Fisch?
Companions are pets that can be equipped to your existing build and provide buffs or perks that make fishing easier. Think of them as permanent upgrades that travel with you. Each companion comes with its own personality and unique behavior, and some may perform better in certain situations than others. You can also interact with them in different ways, making the system feel more dynamic compared to standard pet systems.
One important thing to note before you start hunting: you can only obtain companions after crossing Level 30 in the game. Once you reach Level 30, you will receive the Companion Satchel, which allows you to equip and level up pets that assist you during gameplay. So if you are not there yet, keep fishing and get that level up first.
How Leveling Works
Companions can level up to a maximum of Level 10. Leveling is simple: you just need to fish while the companion is equipped. Over time, it gains experience and becomes stronger, with each level giving small buffs to the companion’s ability. We recommend picking one companion you like and sticking with it during long grind sessions, because while the bonuses may seem small at first, they stack over time and can make a noticeable difference. There is also a free code to redeem right now: you can redeem “Companions” for hints on every companion obtainment, and “nickandsnothegoat” to receive 43,110 Coins, the Bassanjo skin, 20x Fish Head, 20x Minnow, and 20x Shark Head.
All 10 Companion Locations
Here is the complete breakdown of every companion and how to unlock them.
1. Nico Cat (Underground Music Venue)

The Nico Cat is likely the first companion you will receive if you have already completed at least Part 2 of the Old Cat Lady Quest inside the Underground Music Venue. Finish the quest up to Part 2 to receive Nico Cat as a reward. This one is ideal for beginners who have already explored the Crazy Cat Lady storyline.
2. The Tropical Toucan (Lost Jungle)
Head to the Lost Jungle POI and navigate to the GPS location (-2924, 275, -2149) to find the Tropical Toucan perched on the root of a tree. Equip Centipede, Snail, or any Lost Jungle bait and gift it to unlock the companion. You may need to offer multiple baits before it warms up to you. I found this to be one of the more forgiving companions to befriend, as long as you stock up on Lost Jungle bait before heading over.
3. Gary Gator (Mushgrove Swamp)

Travel to Mushgrove Swamp and head to the Alligator Marsh at coordinates (2653, 132, -751). Gary Gator spawns here during early sunrise. Equip Shark Head Bait and wait for the Gator to approach and bite it. You can use the Sundial Totem to quickly switch between day and night if you need to adjust the time.
4. Beak Bill (Any Dock, Any Island)
Beak Bill spawns and roams the dock area of any POI, especially Moosewood, mainly during nighttime. Explore all island docks at night and once you spot one, give it any fish above Legendary level to befriend it. This one requires some patience since spawn times can vary, but it is worth checking the Moosewood docks first.
5. Silly Seal (Northern Expedition)

Travel to the Northern Expedition and find the Northern Summit Island. Outside the POI, you will spot broken ice plates with multiple seals roaming on top. Approach a Silly Seal and gift it a fish above Legendary level. It may get scared and run away at first, so wait 5 minutes before trying again with a different fish.
6. Penguin Pal (Snowcap Island)
Go to Snowcap Island and purchase Krill Bait from the Merchant room above the Shipwright NPC. Head to the Snowburrow secret POI at GPS (2865, 141, 2557), then place down a Reinforced Cage Crab or better with the Krill Bait equipped. If you are lucky, you will get the Penguin Pal. Penguin Pal is among the more difficult companions to obtain due to RNG elements. We recommend using the Sundial Totem here as well to trigger favorable conditions faster.
7. Plunderbeak (Forsaken Shores)
Plunderbeak has the strictest requirements of all. You must have the Scurvy Rod, have opened 10 treasure maps, and finished the Forsaken Shores Bestiary. Once all conditions are met, equip the Scurvy Rod and stand at coordinates (-2629, 161, 1643). One of the birds in the area will fly toward you and become your companion. Missing even one condition means none of them will approach you.
8. Flopping Salmon (The Ocean)
The Flopping Salmon is RNG-based. Take your boat to the open ocean, pop out a Tempest Totem, and when rain begins, fish normally until a Flopping Salmon lands in your hands. Rainy weather boosts your chances significantly. This is the most passive companion to farm, so it is a good one to go after while you are doing regular ocean fishing anyway.
9. Little Meg (Ancient Isle – Megalodon Hunt)

You must wait for the Megalodon Hunt event to begin, either naturally or by using the Megalodon Hunt Totem. When it starts, equip your Fish Radar and head to the area where you can spot a small, blue glowing baby Meg circling the large one. Perfect catch the Megalodon to earn Little Meg as your companion.
10. Mutated Sharky (The Depths)
Enter the Depths and trigger the peak Darkness Event using the Oniriflax Rod. On the ocean floor, you will find a neon green fish roaming the area. Equip a rod with a very low lure speed and the Shark Head bait, then wait for Mutated Sharky to approach before interacting with it. This one requires a calm hand since any sudden movement will spook it.
Which Companion Should You Go For First?
If you are just starting with the Companions update, we suggest going for the Nico Cat first since it is tied to a quest many players have already completed. After that, the Tropical Toucan at Lost Jungle is a great second pick because the unlock method is straightforward once you have the right bait. Penguin Pal and Plunderbeak are among the most difficult due to RNG elements and heavy requirements, so save those for when you are more geared up.
The Companion update in Fisch adds a fresh way to progress without replacing the core gameplay. It builds on the existing system by giving players more reasons to explore, experiment, and keep grinding. If you take the time to collect and level up the right companions, you will notice your fishing becoming more efficient over time.
