How to Send Robux With Roblox Plus (Transfer Limits, Age Requirements, and More)

Roblox has always made it surprisingly complicated to give Robux to someone else. For years, the only real options involved group payouts, game pass purchases, or gift cards, none of which felt like a clean, direct transfer. That changed with the launch of Roblox Plus. One of its headline features is the ability to send Robux directly to other users, and while it sounds simple on paper, there are a few conditions you need to meet before you can do it. We break all of it down below.

What Is Roblox Plus?

Roblox Plus is a subscription that launched on April 30 at $4.99 per month. It bundles several features that were either locked behind Roblox Premium or simply unavailable before, including catalog discounts, free unlimited private servers, the ability to trade and resell avatar items, and, most notably for this guide, the ability to transfer Robux to other users. Roblox Plus and Roblox Premium offer different subscription benefits, and are currently available on most major platforms through the latest version of the Roblox app.

It is worth noting that you do not need to spend heavily to subscribe. The base plan gives you access to all of these features, and the Robux transfer option is included from day one.

Can You Send Robux Without Roblox Plus?

No. To send Robux, users must be subscribed to Roblox Plus. Users do not need to be subscribed to receive a transfer. This is an important distinction. The person you are sending to does not need a Plus subscription, which means you can send Robux to any friend regardless of whether they pay for the service. Only the sender needs to be a subscriber.

Age Requirements You Must Meet

This is the part most players overlook, and it can cause real frustration if you are not prepared. To ensure safe transfers, all users involved must be age-verified and 18 or older to send or receive. For users under 18, a parent or caregiver must approve Robux transfers.

Here is what that means in practice:

  • Users 18 and above need to complete age verification before they can send or receive Robux.
  • For users under 18, a linked parent account is required, and parent or caregiver approval is needed every time younger users send or receive Robux.
  • If the age requirements are not met within 7 days of the transfer, the transfer will be canceled, and the Robux will be returned to the sender.

The age verification itself is quick. You can do it through the Roblox app using your device’s camera in a matter of seconds. Alternatively, users 13 and older can opt for ID verification using a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.

How to Send Robux Step by Step

Once your subscription is active and your age is verified, the process is straightforward. Robux transfers can be started from multiple locations within the app. One of the easiest ways to do it on the Roblox client is to navigate to your friend’s profile, click the three-dot menu next to their name, and select “Send Robux.” You then choose the amount and confirm the transfer.

A few things to keep in mind during the process:

  • You can only select from preset amounts such as 25, 50, 100, or 200 Robux per transaction, rather than entering a fully custom figure.
  • All transfers are final and cannot be reversed, so you should only send Robux to people you know and be cautious of scams.
  • Once completed, the Robux will be added to the recipient’s balance instantly, and you can check the transfer status in My Transactions.

Monthly Transfer Limits

Here is the part that might disappoint heavier users. To help keep transfers safe, there are transfer limits of up to 1,000 Robux a month, which are subject to change. On top of that, there also appears to be a daily cap of 500 Robux, meaning you cannot frontload your full monthly allowance in a single day.

We think 1,000 Robux per month is quite limited for anyone looking to regularly support friends or contribute to group efforts. That said, Roblox has noted that these limits are subject to change, so it is reasonable to expect them to expand the cap as the feature matures.

What Happens When You Receive Robux?

When receiving Robux, you can only spend the transferred Robux on items within Roblox. This is an important restriction to be aware of. Received Robux cannot be cashed out through Developer Exchange (DevEx), so if you are a developer who earns Robux legitimately, transferred amounts will not count toward any DevEx eligibility.

For users under 18 receiving a transfer, the process involves an extra step. A prompt will appear to ask a parent to review the transfer, and the linked parent account must then approve the pending transfer before the Robux is delivered. If the parent rejects it, the transfer is immediately canceled.

A Note on Scam Awareness

We want to flag this because it matters. Roblox will never ask you to send Robux to another user to verify your account or for any other reason. If anyone tells you to send Robux as part of a verification step, a giveaway entry, or any kind of reward scheme, it is a scam. Always be careful about who you are sending currency to, especially since transfers cannot be reversed once confirmed.

Is It Worth It?

For most casual players, the Robux transfer feature is a nice bonus but probably not the main reason to subscribe to Roblox Plus. The 1,000 Robux monthly cap is genuinely limiting, and the age verification requirement means some younger players will need parental involvement every single time they participate in a transfer.
