How to Get All 10 New Potions in Adopt Me Roblox and What Each One Does

Adopt Me just dropped one of its most exciting updates in a long time. We are talking about 10 brand new potions, and you do not need to spend a single Robux to get most of them. If you have been grinding pet needs and wondering what all the buzz is about, we have everything broken down for you right here.

What Is the New Potions Update About

Adopt Me introduced a potion crafting system where players earn ingredients by completing their pet’s needs and then brew those ingredients into potions at a special cauldron. Tim, a familiar face on Adoption Island, has returned wearing a wizard hat and brought a brand new cauldron with him. This cauldron sits in the main hub area of the game, and that is exactly where you need to head to start mixing your potions.

Before this update, there were only 20 potions in the entire game. With 10 new ones added at once, we now have 30 total, which is a massive jump that even the most dedicated Adopt Me fans did not see coming. Most people expected five new potions at most.

How to Get the Potion Ingredients

The process is simpler than it sounds. Every time you complete a pet need, you have a chance to earn a potion ingredient as a reward. These needs are things your pet already asks for daily, like eating, bathing, playing, and so on. So essentially, you are already doing the work without even realizing it.

Once you collect enough ingredients, you take them over to Tim’s cauldron on Adoption Island. Different ingredient combinations produce different potions. Think of it like the old monkey fairground mechanic, where you combined ingredients to get a specific monkey. This works the same way, except now you are crafting a potion with a temporary effect.

One thing we want to highlight here: do not rush to trade these potions for massive value. After the one-week crafting window closes, these potions become available through pet birthday rewards. That means they will keep coming into the game through aging up pets. So if someone in a trade server is asking for a ridiculous amount for one of these, walk away.

All 10 New Potions and What They Do

Here is a breakdown of every new potion and its effect:

  • Bonus Bucks Potion: Doubles the amount of Bucks you earn from completing pet needs. If a task normally gives you 15 Bucks, this potion bumps it up to 30. Great for anyone trying to save up.
  • Random Need Potion: Spawns an extra pet need on demand. If your pet only has two tasks and you are waiting for that final one to age it up, this potion creates a new need instantly.
  • Home Teleport Potion: Teleports you back to your house. Honestly, this one is the weakest of the bunch because pressing Escape and selecting “Respawn Avatar” does the same thing for free. Do not waste this one.
  • Next Need Timer Potion: Shows you a countdown on your screen telling you exactly how long until your pet’s next need appears. This one lasts around 15 minutes and is genuinely useful if you are multitasking or semi-AFK.
  • Expression Change Potion: Changes your pet’s current expression. Your pet could go from looking content to looking sad, angry, or happy. It is a fun cosmetic effect that adds some personality to your pet.
  • Pet Morph Potion: This is the standout potion of the entire update. Feed it to any pet, and it visually transforms into a completely random pet for 10 minutes. Your dog could turn into a Shadow Dragon, a Bat Dragon, or even just another common. It is purely visual and temporary.

The remaining four potions have not been fully detailed yet, but they all follow the same theme of either boosting your economy, changing your gameplay experience, or adding fun cosmetic effects.

The Morph Potion: What You Need to Know

We have to spend a little more time on the morph potion because it has caused some confusion. Yes, your pet can look like a Shadow Dragon for 10 minutes. No, you cannot scam anyone with it.

The developers confirmed that when you go to trade a morphed pet, the trade screen will still show the original pet name and appearance. There might be a small icon showing that the pet is currently morphed, but the trade value stays based on the original pet. So if you try to pass off your dog as a legendary, the other player will see a dog in the trade window. The morph is cosmetic only, and it fades after 10 minutes.

That said, this is genuinely one of the funniest features Adopt Me has added in recent memory. Turning a common dog into a Bat Dragon just for 10 minutes of roleplay chaos is exactly the kind of thing that makes the game entertaining for all ages.

How Long Do These Potions Last

All 10 new potions have a temporary effect duration of around 10 minutes after you consume them. This is intentional. Because the ingredients are relatively easy to earn through normal gameplay, the developers kept the effects short so they do not break the game’s economy or make certain features feel useless permanently.

The crafting method itself is only available for one week. After that, Tim and his cauldron leave the main hub. However, the potions themselves do not disappear from the game entirely. They become part of the pet birthday reward pool, which means every time you level up a pet and open that little birthday present, you have a chance to receive one of these new potions.

Should You Trade These Potions or Keep Them

This is where we want to give you some real advice. Older potions in Adopt Me do carry decent trade value. A water walking potion is worth around 45 ride potions, and a heart potion sits at roughly five ride potions. These new potions could eventually hold similar value, but do not expect them to go sky-high anytime soon.

Since these potions are earnable through birthday rewards indefinitely, the supply will keep growing. That naturally keeps their trade ceiling lower than something truly limited. Our suggestion is to hold onto any you do not plan to use, check their value on trusted Adopt Me trading sites before offering them in trades, and never overpay just because someone is listing one for a high price during the first week.

A Few Tips Before You Start Brewing

Playing smart during this update goes a long way. Here is what we recommend:

  • Focus on pets that have many active needs at once to maximize your ingredient drops.
  • Save your ingredients and do not brew randomly. Know which potion you want before mixing, since different combinations give different results.
  • The crafting window is only one week, so prioritize getting a good stockpile before Tim leaves.
  • If you get the home teleport potion, hold onto it for trading rather than using it yourself.

The new potion update is one of those additions that touches nearly every part of the game at once. Whether you are a Buck grinder, a trader, or someone who just loves seeing wild things happen to their pets, there is something here for you. Get into the game, complete those pet needs, and start brewing.
