Roblox Dig Deep – Everything You Need to Know Before You Start Digging

Roblox Dig Deep - Everything You Need to Know Before You Start Digging

If you love mining games, Roblox Dig Deep is one title you need to try. We spent a good chunk of time with this game, going through quests, upgrading our pickaxe, building the furnace, and unlocking hidden doors. And honestly, there is a lot more to this game than it first lets on. Here is everything we learned, so you can skip the trial and error and get straight to the good stuff.

What Is Roblox Dig Deep?

Dig Deep is a Roblox mining game where your goal is simple: dig as deep as possible. You start with a basic pickaxe, mine resources from the ground, sell them for cash, and use that cash to upgrade your gear. The deeper you go, the better the materials you find. At first glance, it looks like a straightforward idle-style game. But once you get into it, you realize there is a full storyline, NPC quests, a crafting system, and even secret areas locked behind runes.

We will be honest with you. When we first launched the game, we did not even know how to start digging. Turns out, you need to hold your left click, not tap it. That one small detail changed everything. So if you are sitting there wondering why nothing is happening, that is your answer.

The Core Loop: Dig, Sell, Upgrade, Repeat

The gameplay is straightforward once you understand it. You dig materials out of the ground, resurface, sell your loot at the vendor, and use the money to upgrade your pickaxe. Each pickaxe upgrade lets you dig faster and opens up deeper tiers of the map. We made only around $97 on our first full dig run, which felt rough. But once we upgraded our pickaxe and understood which zones to target, the cash started flowing much better.

Roblox Dig Deep - Selling Your Blocks

Here is something important we want to highlight: your pickaxe tier directly controls how far down you can go. If you try to dig past a certain depth without the right tier, the game literally blocks you. So do not skip upgrades thinking you can brute-force your way deeper. You cannot.

A few things that will help you in the early game:

  • Always hold left click to dig. Tapping does nothing.
  • Sell everything before upgrading. Do not hold onto loot.
  • Save up enough cash to skip mid-tier pickaxes when possible. Jump straight to the next big upgrade.
  • Do not move your cursor away from a rock while digging. It resets your progress on that block, which is genuinely annoying.

Understanding Pickaxe Tiers and Materials

As you go deeper, the materials change. In the early layers, you mostly find coal and iron. Go deeper and you start seeing copper, then rarer stuff like tungsten and diamond. Each new tier of materials is worth significantly more when you sell it. The key is getting your pickaxe upgraded quickly so you can access those deeper zones.

We noticed that higher-tier materials are surprisingly easy to miss. If you are rushing straight down, you might blow past some valuable nodes. Slow down a little and scan the walls around you. It pays off. We found a patch of iron at one point that alone was worth more than our entire previous run.

The index system in the game also gives you rewards as you progress. When we hit certain milestones, we received dig strength bonuses. These passive boosts stack up over time and make a real difference later in the game.

How to Build the Furnace

This is one of those features that the game does not explain clearly. We had to figure it out ourselves. To access the furnace, you first need to talk to a specific NPC in the game. After that, head to the location marked with a hammer sign. That is your crafting table.

You need three materials to build the furnace: wood, coal, and stones. Wood is the easiest to find. Coal and stones are available right on the surface ground, so you do not need to dig deep for them. Once you gather everything, head back to the surface and craft it. The best part is that crafting the furnace costs nothing. It is completely free.

Once you have the furnace, you can heat materials like iron and copper. Heating a material transforms it into a higher-value version of itself. This directly increases how much you earn when you sell it. It also ties into several other quests in the game. So building the furnace early is genuinely worth it, and we recommend doing it as soon as you unlock the crafting table.

Quests and NPCs Worth Knowing

Dig Deep has a proper quest system, and we think it adds a lot to the experience. Here are a few that stood out to us.

The Mandrake Mission

This is a beginner quest that we highly recommend completing first. You need to find food for Mandrake, which is spread across three specific locations on the map. It is not a hard quest at all. Once you collect everything from all three spots, you get a checkmark and a reward of 1,000 cash. For a beginner, that is a solid chunk of money right at the start. Do not sleep on this one.

Uncle Strotham and the Wine Crystal

As you progress, you will unlock tier two of the map and receive a quest involving Uncle Strotham. He is an NPC you encounter during mid-game progression. The quest asks you to find a wine crystal, which we found a bit tricky to locate at first. Keep exploring the deeper zones and you will come across it. This quest is part of the main storyline and moves things forward in a meaningful way.

The Rune Gates: A Hidden Layer of the Game

One of the most surprising things we discovered in Dig Deep is the rune gate system. There are four runes hidden across the map, and you need to find all of them to open a mysterious door. Here is where they are:

  • The first rune is found early in the map.
  • The second is near some bushes. Pay attention to that area.
  • The third is near a gatekeeper’s head NPC, who actually speaks to you.
  • The fourth is next to a blue house in the village.

Once you collect all four, you get a notification that the mysterious door has opened. Behind it, you find an enchanting station where you can enhance your pickaxe with special buffs. The enchantments are not cheap, especially for beginners. But this is something to work toward because the stat boosts make a big difference in deeper zones.

What We Actually Think About the Game

We will be straight with you. Dig Deep is not the most visually polished game out there. The mechanics are a little rough around the edges, and the cursor issue where you accidentally reset your dig progress gets annoying fast. But there is something genuinely satisfying about the progression loop. Watching your pickaxe tier go up, unlocking new zones, and seeing the material quality improve keeps us coming back.

The game has a real story behind it. There are NPCs with personality, hidden areas, a crafting system, and quests that actually matter. That sets it apart from the typical basic mining simulators on Roblox. It is early-game depth is limited, but once you push past the first few tiers and start doing quests like the Mandrake mission or chasing the wine crystal, things get a lot more interesting.

If you enjoy mining games with a bit of RPG flavor, Dig Deep is worth your time. Just remember to hold that left click.
