Roblox Broken Blade Excalibur Update: Beginner’s Guide to Weapons, Bosses, and More

If you have been sleeping on Broken Blade, now is the time to wake up. The Excalibur update just dropped, and it brings a new weapon, a new island, a new dungeon, new mythical materials, a new title, a new accessory, and a new rune. We are going to break it all down for you, from the basics to the new content, so you know exactly what to do when you log in.

What Is Roblox Broken Blade

Broken Blade is a fast-paced action RPG built by Skyrift Devs on Roblox. The setting is a shattered Nordic world where the World Tree has collapsed, and monsters now rule every island. Your job is to forge a blade, fight your way through enemies, defeat bosses, and eventually reforge the legendary Broken Blade. The game supports PC, mobile, and console, and the current max level sits at 15,000. We think it is one of the more genuinely promising Roblox ARPGs right now, and its 88% thumbs-up rating backs that up. It already pulls around 10,000 concurrent players, which is impressive for a relatively new title.

If you have played Sailor Piece before, you will feel at home here. A lot of the systems, like elements, race rerolls, bless rerolls, and storage rooms, share the same DNA. But Broken Blade does bring its own flavor, and we think it is worth your time.

Understanding Weapons and Classes

There are three weapon types in the game, and we think of them more like classes than just gear choices.

  • Sword is the best all-around weapon for farming. It hits multiple enemies at once, which makes it ideal for clearing mobs and farming chests.
  • Katana is the best weapon for boss damage. If you plan to spend most of your time hunting bosses, which we highly recommend, this is your go-to.
  • Buster is currently the weakest of the three. It does not have a clear use case right now, so we would skip it unless you want to experiment.

Our personal recommendation is to start with the sword while you are leveling up, then switch to the katana once you start targeting bosses seriously. The katana’s combat loop is also very satisfying once you get the hang of it.

How to Forge Your Blade

Forging is the heart of the progression system. When you start, you will have basic elements like bone and stone to slot into your blade. Bone gives you a 5% damage boost, while stone provides damage reduction. As you progress and defeat more enemies, you unlock stronger elements like gold, which gives 40% damage and 4% crit chance, and blood, which provides 3% life steal.

You can swap elements in and out at any time, so we suggest matching your build to your playstyle. If you are chasing bosses, stack damage and crit. If you keep dying, a little damage reduction goes a long way. One underrated tip here is to visit your settings and scroll all the way down to the reroll settings. Set everything to legendary or your highest available rarity. This way, when you are rolling for elements, races, and blessings, you never accidentally keep something weaker than what you already own.

Skill Points and Quests

When you first start the game, there is an auto-distribution feature for skill points. Turn it off. We mean it. You want full control over where your points go, especially early on. Focus your points on whichever weapon type you have chosen. If you start dying frequently, put a few points into defense, but keep the majority in offense.

The quest system in Broken Blade auto-repeats, which is a huge quality of life feature. You also have master quests that pop up on each island. These include tasks like blocking 10 times, parrying a thousand times, or defeating 50 bosses with a specific weapon. These quests give you rank-up rewards and are absolutely worth doing. You can farm them on easy bosses, and they will passively reward you as you play.

Combat System Explained

The combat system is one of the most fun parts of this game, and once it clicks, it feels incredibly fluid. Here is how it works:

  • Pressing Z attacks and consumes your resource bar, which we call mana for simplicity.
  • Parrying with C or X refills that bar almost instantly.
  • The best katana loop is Z, Z, Z until the bar empties, then parry to refill, and repeat.

This creates an endless damage loop that feels very rewarding. When enemies attack you, and you successfully parry, your mana bar also refills. So in boss fights, this back-and-forth rhythm becomes a real skill expression. We think mastering this loop early separates good players from great ones.

Farming, Chests, and Fire Seeds

Throughout the world, you will find small collectible nodes that you can claim using fire seeds. You earn fire seeds by defeating enemies, so make sure you are farming consistently and claiming every single node you find. They start appearing from the second island onward.

There is also a reroll shop that is useful early on. Later, it becomes less valuable since opening chests gives you far better returns. Speaking of chests, boss hunting is currently the best way to farm in the game. Bosses drop legendary items, keys, and chests at a very solid rate. We found that spending focused time on boss runs is more efficient than anything else right now.

The Excalibur Update: What Is New

The Excalibur update is a big one. Here is a quick breakdown of everything it adds:

  • A brand new weapon, Excalibur itself
  • A new island to explore
  • A new dungeon with fresh challenges
  • New mythical-tier materials for forging
  • A new title, accessory, and rune to chase

The mythical materials are especially exciting because they represent the next tier above legendary. If you have been sitting on a pile of legendary elements and not upgrading, now is the time to store them and start pushing for mythical rolls. The new dungeon also gives us a fresh end-game loop, which is something the game needed.

The Crimson Event and Bonus Tips

The Crimson event drops special boss items called Crimson Behirits as random boss drops. You use these to spawn a special boss that has three difficulty modes. Easy mode is very doable even at mid-level, and it rewards you with a mythical chest every run. We think farming easy mode for mythical chests is one of the best things you can do as a mid-level player. In roughly an hour of play, we were able to collect around eight to nine of these items, which is a solid return.

One accessory we found from this event, the Crimson Curse, gave us 80% health and roughly 27% to 30% damage. If you find it, equip it immediately.

One final tip we want to leave you with: always set a checkpoint at every pit you find in each area. Respawning without a checkpoint is a real pain, and it will cost you time when tackling tougher bosses.

Broken Blade is genuinely fun, and the Excalibur update gives us even more reason to keep playing. We will keep covering this game as it grows, so stay tuned to Fans First Booyah for everything you need.
