Pet Simulator 99 Backrooms 2026 – Complete Guide to the Backrooms Daydream Update

The Backrooms are back in Pet Simulator 99, and this time the update is called Backrooms Daydream. I have to say, this is one of the most creative themes BIG Games has ever done with this maze. The Backrooms threw a party, and nobody cleaned up. We are talking sagging balloons, crayon scribbles on the walls, and that familiar, creepy yellow-green wallpaper. The deeper we go, the more the smiles on those walls turn to frowns. This update dropped on June 13, 2026, and it brings 37 brand-new rooms, a co-op boss fight, exclusive pets, and a whole lot of loot to chase. Let us break everything down so you walk in ready.

How to Enter the Backrooms in Pet Simulator 99

Getting in is simple. We just head to any Spawn area and step through the party door. The moment we enter, we drop into the maze. One important thing to know is that your potion and toy timers pause while you are inside. So do not worry about wasting boosts. All the loot inside also auto-collects, which is a nice quality-of-life touch that saves us from running around picking things up manually.

Now, here is a pro tip I want to share. The Backrooms normally ban hoverboards. But there is a trick to sneak one in. When we first enter, a loading screen appears with a pet animation. We wait for that little stutter or lag in the pet’s movement. The moment we see it, we quickly equip our hoverboard. It takes a few tries, but once it is on, we can zip through the maze at full speed. Do not unequip it once it is on, because we cannot re-equip it without going home and starting over. If we take damage inside, the hoverboard becomes invisible. We still technically have it, but we cannot jump either. So, avoid damage at all costs once we are riding.

Pet Simulator 99 Backrooms Map

This is where things get interesting. Every server has a completely different layout. We cannot memorize one map and expect it to work on another server. The maze is randomized each time, which means every run feels fresh but also genuinely confusing. The only room that stays the same for everyone is the starting Spawn room.

One trick to get a rough view of the map is to find the two fans scattered in the corridors. We can try to ride on top of them, which launches us high enough to see the layout from above. It is not a perfect bird ‘s-eye view, but it helps us figure out where we are and where we have not explored yet. Another navigation tip I found incredibly useful is the footprint system. As we walk through the maze, our character leaves footprints on the floor. These footprints show us where we have already been, which stops us from wasting time doubling back on ourselves. It is a small touch, but it makes a huge difference when we are deep inside and completely lost.

We also want to watch for darker wallpaper patches along the walls. Some of those lead to hidden rooms with extra loot. Others lead to dead ends. If we hit a dead end with buttons inside, we should be careful, because pressing the wrong thing can trap us and force a reset. Avoid those rooms unless we are sure of what we are doing.

When we are in a public server, other players may already have cleared certain rooms. That means we might walk into a locker room and find that the best lockers are already open. For this reason, playing in a private server or with friends is the smarter move. We get all the loot to ourselves without competing with others.

New Rooms and What to Expect Inside

The Backrooms Daydream update adds 37 new rooms, and they are all themed around this twisted party aesthetic. Here is a quick look at some of the standout rooms we might run into:

  • The Ball Pit room lets us cannonball right in for rewards.
  • The Simon dance floor challenges us to light up the correct tiles to escape lasers.
  • A busted vending machine cracks open for a surprise payout.
  • Dark corridors have something chasing us, so we need to move fast.
  • The PopCat room is one of the trickier obstacles. We want to keep jumping inside to avoid getting hit and resetting.

Dead ends are a real problem in this maze. Some rooms look promising but lead nowhere. I recommend checking for footprints before committing to a direction. If fresh footprints are going in and none are coming back, it might be a dead end.

Eggs to Hunt in the Backrooms

There are four eggs hidden throughout the maze in this update. We have the Smile Egg, the Flower Egg, the Scribble Egg, and the Keep Out Egg. The deeper the egg is tucked into the maze, the better the chances of pulling a Huge. The Keep Out Egg is the one we all want. It can drop the Titanic Partygoer Cat or even the Gargantuan Guest 666, which is the rarest hatch in the entire event. I strongly suggest saving our Daydream Keys for locked rooms that contain the Keep Out Egg. Using keys on anything else feels like a waste unless we are just farming for fun.

The Boss Fight and Upgrade Machine

The Daydream Chest Mimic is the main boss of this event. We need a Daydream Key to unlock the room and enter the fight. The good news is that the fight scales to how many players are in the room. Solo players can clear it too, though having friends makes it much faster. Winning the fight gives us Hunt Tokens and puts us on the leaderboard.

The Upgrade Machine is where those Hunt Tokens go. We can spend them on three upgrades:

  • Boss Damage: We hit the Mimic harder on every run.
  • Extra Loot Roll: We get a bonus payout every time we clear the boss.
  • Token Find: We earn more tokens from each fight.

I suggest prioritizing Boss Damage and Token Find first. The faster we can break the boss, the faster we earn tokens to keep upgrading. Extra Loot can come last since Huges are not counted as standard loot anyway.

Limited Pets and Clan Battle Rewards

This update brings ten brand-new pets to collect. We can hatch the Daydream Fox, Skin Stealer, Faceling Raccoon, Tripod Octopus, Piggy Piggy, Memory Worm, Death Moth, Omen, Partygoer Cat, and Guest 666. The Huge versions of the Faceling Raccoon, Piggy Piggy, and Huge Tripod Octopus all come from the boss fight. The rest are hatched from the backroom eggs spread across the maze.

There is also a Clan Battle running for seven days. If our clan places in the top 30, we earn the Shiny Daydream Hoverboard. Top 50 gets the Daydream Booth. Top clan members finishing in first place earn the Titanic Daydream Fox, which is one of the best prizes in the entire update. We should coordinate with our clan early to grind boss runs together and stack up points fast.

The Boss Leaderboard runs separately. The top 50 players by boss kills earn the Rainbow Shiny Huge Death Moth, which is a stunning-looking pet. Even finishing in the top 30,000 gets us the base version of the Huge Death Moth, so it is worth grinding even if we are not a top-tier player.

Final Tips Before You Head In

We want to make sure we equip a strong pet team before entering. Back-room pets deal more damage to breakables inside, so using event-specific pets gives us a real advantage. Bring a magnet too, and make sure it is active before we start walking. I have lost countless coins by forgetting to turn the magnet on, which is a frustrating mistake to make deep in the maze. And if a particular server feels unproductive or crowded, just reset and join a fresh one. A new layout might have the Keep Out Egg sitting much closer to spawn than we expected.
