We finally have a new event to talk about, and this one is a big deal for Pokémon Pokopia fans. The Wish Upon A Jirachi event lands in our towns from June 23 to July 8, 2026, and it brings the Mythical Pokémon Jirachi into the cozy life sim for the very first time. If you have been waiting for fresh content since the last event, this is exactly what we needed.

We already know Pokopia loves its limited-time events. We saw it with Sableye, and we saw it again with Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff, and Mawile earlier this year. Jirachi now becomes the fifth special Pokémon to join this lineup, and honestly, it feels like the most exciting one yet. There is something special about the Wish Pokémon showing up in a game built entirely around building a peaceful life with Pokémon.
How The Jirachi Event Actually Works
The event begins at 5 AM local time on June 23 and runs until 4:59 AM on July 8. We get a fairly generous two-and-a-half-week window to complete everything, which is good news if we have a busy schedule.
Here is how we start things off. We need to talk to Jirachi first to receive a recipe for wish notes. Once we have that recipe, the real grind begins. We have to interact with other Pokémon around our town and fulfill their requests. Doing this lets us transform our regular wish notes into something better, sparkling wish notes, sometimes also called shining wish notes, depending on the source.

These sparkling wish notes are the real currency of this event. We can take them to Jirachi at any Pokémon Center and exchange them for furniture and décor inspired by the starry sky, which fits Jirachi’s theme perfectly since this little Pokémon is known for granting wishes under the stars.
We want to highlight one important requirement here. Jirachi will only visit towns that have a rebuilt Pokémon Center. If we have been putting off reconstructing ours, now is the time to fix that. Without a working Pokémon Center, we simply cannot take part in this event at all, so this should be priority one before June 23 arrives.
What Items Can We Expect From This Event
Based on the screenshots that The Pokémon Company has shared, we can expect a genuinely charming collection of items. We are looking at:

- A starry themed bed and matching bedroom furniture
- A wardrobe or cupboard with a celestial design
- Wall decorations featuring moons and stars
- A small decorative cannon piece
- A cozy floor mat
- A clock styled around the wish theme
- What looks like a telescope, perfect for a stargazing setup
We have not seen official names for these items yet, and we likely will not know the exact list until the event actually goes live. Still, the overall aesthetic looks dreamy and cozy, which aligns well with Pokopia’s relaxing tone.
The Pokémon Center Gets A Makeover Too
One detail we really appreciate about Pokopia events is how the Pokémon Center itself transforms to match whichever Pokémon is hosting. For this event, our local Pokémon Center will be decked out in stars and moons, giving the whole building a nighttime, wishful atmosphere. Jirachi will be stationed right there, ready to take our sparkling wish notes off our hands.
This Event Did Not Arrive Alone
Something we think is worth pointing out, and many players might miss this, is that the Jirachi event launched right alongside a small but useful patch. Version 1.1.1 went live on June 18, fixing two specific issues. The first fix addresses a bug that caused problems once the number of placed items in an area crossed a certain limit. The second fix corrects Ditto’s facial expression, which was not changing properly when using emotes during photo mode.

Neither fix is dramatic on its own, but we think the timing matters. Releasing a stability patch right before a big event tells us the developers want our experience to be smooth while we are out collecting wish notes and decorating our towns. It is a small thing, but it shows good planning on their end.
What Comes After Jirachi
We already know this is not a one-off. Pokémon Pokopia has been steadily building toward a much bigger roadmap, and the Jirachi event fits into that bigger picture. The Pokopia Expansion Pass has already been confirmed, and it arrives in three separate parts. Part one, called Bubbly Basin, launches in August 2026 and adds a brand new area to explore. Part two brings additional features later in the year, and part three introduces yet another town sometime in 2027.
We also want to mention something fans have been buzzing about. Newly released artwork tied to the Expansion Pass shows accessories that look like fairy wings and bow ties, hinting that Pokémon customization could be coming to the game. Some of that artwork even includes sparkle effects that closely resemble the classic shiny Pokémon icon from the mainline games. Shiny variants are not currently part of Pokopia, but speculation is growing that this could change down the line. We think this is worth watching closely over the next few months.
Our Take On This Event
We genuinely think Jirachi is one of the better choices for an event Pokémon so far. It fits Pokopia’s slow, comforting pace, and the wish-granting theme matches the spirit of building a town from nothing into something beautiful. We also like that the developers keep tying smaller events into the larger Expansion Pass story, since it gives us a reason to keep checking back instead of treating Pokopia as a game we finish once and forget.
Our advice is simple. Rebuild your Pokémon Center now if you have not already, stock up on patience for the wish note grind, and keep an eye on those Expansion Pass teasers because customization and possibly shiny Pokémon could be on the horizon. We will be diving deeper into the exact item names and crafting steps once the event goes live on June 23, so stay tuned for that.
For now, we want to know what you think. Which item from this starry collection caught your eye the most? Let us know, and we will see you at the next one.
