Grow a Garden 2 Turtle Pet – Price, Ability, and Best Money Method

Grow a Garden 2 just dropped a brand new pet, and we cannot stop talking about it. The Turtle has arrived, and it is already changing how we play. We know it looks slow and harmless at first glance. But once we dig into what it actually does, we realize this little creature solves one of the biggest problems in the game. We are talking about inventory space, and the Turtle gives us a free way to get more of it.

In this guide, we break down everything about the Turtle. We cover where to find it, how its ability works, and the best way to use it for making serious money. We also share some of our own insights so you can avoid the mistakes many of us made early on.

What Is The Turtle Pet In Grow a Garden 2

The Turtle is a Rare pet, and it is only the second pet in this rarity tier since the game launched. It carries a heavy shell on its back, and that shell is the whole point of this pet. We get two passive effects the moment we equip it. The shell adds extra backpack space, and that same shell slows our walk speed.

We think this trade-off is fair, honestly. Most pets in this game give us one clean bonus. The Turtle asks us to give something up in exchange for something valuable. That makes it feel more strategic than other pets we have used so far.

Here is a quick look at what the Turtle offers us:

  • Rarity: Rare, the second one added after the Deer
  • Price: 70,000 Sheckles when we buy it from a spawn
  • Backpack bonus: adds 10 extra inventory slots per Turtle
  • Walk speed penalty: reduces our speed by 2 levels
  • Stacking: each extra Turtle adds another 10 slots, up to six pets

How We Can Get The Turtle

We get the Turtle the same way we get most roaming pets in this game. It spawns randomly on the map, and we have to walk up to it and buy it before someone else does. There are no codes for it, and there is no guaranteed method right now.

We have found that server hopping works best. We keep joining new public servers until a Turtle shows up somewhere on the map. Most of us managed to find one within just a few minutes of doing this. The spawn rate feels generous compared to some of the rarer pets we have chased before.

We do not recommend trading for it unless we already trust the other player. Trading in this game can go wrong fast, and scams are common. Since the Turtle is so easy to find naturally, we see no real reason to take that risk.

One thing we learned the hard way is speed matters when a Turtle spawns. If another player reaches it first and pays for it, the pet walks straight to their garden instead. We always keep some Sheckles saved up just in case one appears while we are exploring.

Why The Backpack Bonus Actually Matters

Before the Turtle existed, the only real way to expand our inventory was by spending Robux. That always felt unfair to players who do not want to spend real money. We are glad the developers finally gave free-to-play players a way to compete.

The default backpack space in Grow a Garden 2 sits at 100 slots. Equipping a single Turtle pushes that up to 110. Equipping all six raises it all the way to 160 slots. That is a 60 percent increase, and it changes how much we can carry before we need to sell.

We also discovered that bigger Turtle variants give even larger bonuses. A Big Turtle reportedly adds around 20 slots, while a Mega Turtle can push that closer to 40 or more. Rainbow variants stack a bonus on top of whatever size they already are. We have not confirmed every exact number ourselves, since the community is still testing this, but the pattern is clear. Bigger Turtles mean bigger storage.

The Best Way To Use The Turtle For Profit

This is where the Turtle really shines for us. The biggest money-making opportunity tied to this pet comes from daily deals. Each day, we get one shot at a deal that doubles or even triples the value of whatever we sell from our inventory. Before the Turtle, we could only stuff 100 items into our backpack before claiming that deal. Now we can carry up to 160 items with all six Turtles equipped.

That alone can boost our daily deal earnings by well over half, depending on what we are carrying.

Here is the method we follow for the best results:

  • Group your best crops together in one corner of the garden
  • Use a Super Sprinkler, or pair a Legendary and Rare sprinkler together
  • Apply a Super Watering Can, since it increases fruit size in this version of the game
  • Wait for mutations to appear, with Bloodlit and Electric being among the strongest right now
  • Equip all six Turtles right before harvesting and selling

We want to add one tip that often gets overlooked. Use Speed Mushrooms while the Turtles are active. The walk speed penalty becomes annoying fast, especially on a large plot. A few Speed Mushrooms cancel out most of that slowdown, and it makes the whole harvesting process far less frustrating.

We also suggest inviting friends into a private server before selling. Every friend present gives a 10 percent boost to our selling price, and we can stack this with up to seven friends. Combine that boost with a Turtle-filled inventory and a daily deal, and the numbers get genuinely impressive.

Is The Turtle Worth Getting

We believe the Turtle earns its place as one of the more practical pets in Grow a Garden 2 right now. It will not steal crops for us, and it will not make our plants grow faster. What it does is solve a real problem that free-to-play players have dealt with since launch.

The walk speed penalty is the only real downside, and we think it is a small price to pay. If we play on quieter servers or simply plan our harvesting sessions, that penalty barely affects us. For anyone trying to maximize daily deal profits without spending real money, the Turtle is currently one of the smartest pets to chase.

We will keep testing the bigger variants as more players report their findings. For now, grabbing at least a couple of Turtles feels like an easy win for anyone serious about growing their Sheckle count.
