How to Get the Rod of the Singularity in Fisch – Complete Quest Guide

The Rod of the Singularity sits at the very top of the endgame ladder in Fisch. It comes from the Astral update, the same update we covered in detail in our Astral Observatory update breakdown, where we looked at every new rod and leak tied to this content drop. Getting this rod takes patience, the right gear, and a clear plan. We have broken the whole process down step by step so you do not waste time guessing.

Why This Rod Is Worth the Grind

Before we get into the steps, it helps to know what you are working toward. This rod has no weight limit, so it can reel in the heaviest fish in the game without failing. Its luck stat is far above that of most other rods, which pushes rare mutations your way more often. The passive ability flips the usual fishing rules. When a fish sits inside your bar, progress builds on its own, and the control bar barely moves. When the fish slips outside the bar, everything speeds up, and resilience drops hard. This completely changes how you play the reeling minigame, so expect an adjustment period once you finally get your hands on it.

Where to Begin the Questline

You start this journey at Abyssal Zenith in Sea 3. Swim down until you find a black hole portal at the bottom of the zone and swim straight through it. This takes you into the Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern, a hidden area most players never visit unless they are chasing this exact rod. Talk to Corvus inside the cavern to open the first quest chain. Keep your Nova and Celestial rods ready before you speak to him, since both mutations come up constantly during this stage.

Completing Corvus’s Collection Quest

Corvus asks for four separate catches, and each one needs a specific rod and mutation. We recommend tackling these in the order below since it cuts down on travel time between zones.

  • Catch a Sparkling or Shiny Celestial Crowned Anglerfish inside the Abyssal Zenith cavern using the Celestial Rod, paired with a Rainbow Totem and Sparkling Totem for better odds.
  • Fish for a Nova Hardened Glass in the same cavern using the Cerulean Fang Rod with Starlight Worm bait during Aurora weather.
  • Collect 12 Nova Gold Pieces from the Mine Shaft zone using Crab Cages and Starlight Worm bait. Extra luck items are not needed here since the drop rate is already high.
  • Gather 12 Celestial Scrap Metal in The Depths during daytime. Use the Celestial Rod to activate its mutation buff, then swap to a faster rod to speed through the remaining catches.

Once all four items sit in your inventory, return to Corvus. He hands over a Dyson Sphere, which unlocks the next and harder half of the quest.

Handing the Dyson Sphere to Merlin

Take the Dyson Sphere to Merlin, who sends you across five hidden fishing rooms scattered around the map. This part takes the most time because each location requires its own trip. Setting a teleport point close to Merlin before you start saves a real chunk of your session.

  • The Abyssal Zenith cavern holds the Stabilizer Core. Use the same black hole portal from earlier and fish with a high luck rod.
  • Boreal Pines hides its fish inside an ice lake. Swim to the center of the lake to find a dark portal leading to the catch area.
  • Everton Forest has a pond at its center with a cave opening along the edge. Walking or swimming in teleports you straight to the fishing room.
  • Cryogenic Canal requires you to reach the bottom of the bridge and step through a dark door at its base.
  • Snow Cap needs a Blue Moon Totem, but it only works during clear night weather. Once active, drop into the lit area near the base of the peak.

A high luck rod such as the Requiem or Plague River makes each of these catches far more consistent. Once all five items are turned in, Merlin rewards you with the Rod of the Singularity.

Tips to Make the Grind Faster

Most of the wasted time in this questline comes from repeated travel, not the actual fishing. Group your tasks by location instead of doing them in quest order. Since Abyssal Zenith covers two separate requirements from Corvus and one from Merlin, finish all three while you are already there. Keep a Mutation Totem in your inventory as a backup for whenever a Nova or Celestial catch refuses to land naturally. Fishing during the right weather event cuts your attempts down noticeably, so check the in-game weather forecast before committing to a session.

Final Thoughts

The Rod of the Singularity rewards players who plan their route instead of rushing in blind. Every catch here depends on the right rod, bait, and mutation, so preparation matters more than raw luck. Once you unlock it, the payoff is real. You get a rod with no weight ceiling and mutation odds most other tools cannot match.
