Steal an Egg keeps adding new ways to boost your income, and the Bloom mutation is one of the biggest additions from the Cherry Blossom update. It comes from a machine called the Sakura Incubator, and it can turn a normal egg into something that earns way more cash per second. If you want to push your pen’s earnings past what basic Eternal pets can offer, this mutation is worth chasing. Here is everything you need to know about getting the Bloom mutation, along with a few things we picked up while farming it ourselves.
What The Bloom Mutation Actually Does
Bloom is a mutation that attaches to an egg rather than a pet directly. Once an egg carries this mutation, the pet that hatches from it earns noticeably more than the same pet without it. Bloom sits at a 1.5x multiplier on the final cash output. There is also a rarer version called Spirit Bloom, which boosts the multiplier to 3x. Both come from the same machine, so you are always rolling for one of the two once you fully charge an egg.
We noticed something important while testing this. The multiplier only matters if the base egg is already strong. A small or common egg with Bloom still earns far less than a heavy Eternal or Secret egg without any mutation at all. So the real skill here is not just getting Bloom. It is choosing the right egg to put it on.
Unlocking The Sakura Incubator

You cannot use the Sakura Incubator right away. It sits at the back of the Cherry Blossom zone and stays locked until you feed it a Crane pet. The Crane is an Epic pet that only drops from eggs in the Cherry Blossom area, and you need a good amount of speed to steal from that zone safely. We already covered the fastest way to grab one in our guide on how to get the Crane in Steal an Egg at low speed, so check that out first if you have not unlocked the Crane yet.
Once you have a Crane in your inventory, walk up to the incubator and hand it over. It does not matter how big or mutated your Crane is. Even the smallest one you own works fine here, since you only need it once. After that, the machine unlocks for good, and you never need another Crane again.
Farming Sakura Crystals During The Great Bloom
The incubator runs on a resource called Sakura Crystals, and you only get these during a timed event called the Great Bloom. This event triggers roughly every 30 minutes inside the Cherry Blossom zone, and it only lasts about three minutes each time. A banner pops up on your screen the moment it starts, so you know exactly when to move.

During the event, special sakura trees appear scattered around the zone. Equip your bat and start breaking them. Bigger trees drop more crystals than smaller ones, so we recommend prioritizing size over speed of clicking. A few pointers that helped us farm faster:
- Stay near the Cherry Blossom zone before the timer hits zero, so you do not waste the short window traveling.
- Target the biggest trees first since they give the highest crystal payout per hit.
- Keep hitting until the very last second, since crystals carry over even after the event ends.
Most players need close to a thousand crystals just to hit 100 percent charge, and pushing to 150 percent takes noticeably more. Since the event only gives a short burst each time, expect to run through it two or three times before your egg is fully charged.
Choosing The Right Egg And Getting The Mutation

Once you have crystals stocked up, place an egg into the incubator from your inventory. You cannot use a pet that has already hatched, so plan and hold onto your best unhatched eggs. Deposit crystals until the bar fills. At 100 percent, the egg is ready to mutate, but pushing it to the 150 percent cap gives you a better shot at the rare outcome.
The odds stay fixed at roughly 97.5 percent for Bloom and about 2.5 percent for Spirit Bloom, and charging past 100 percent does not change these numbers directly, though many players report better luck at max charge. If you really want Spirit Bloom, there is also a paid option that raises your odds using Robux, though it gets pricier every time you buy into it.
One thing we learned the hard way is that fusing smaller eggs of the same type before charging can give you a heavier starting egg, which means a bigger payout once the mutation lands. Do not waste your charge on a throwaway egg just because it is sitting in your inventory. Save it for your biggest Eternal, Secret, or Cosmic egg instead, since the mutation multiplies whatever base weight that egg already carries.
Final Thoughts
The Bloom mutation adds a genuine long-term goal once you have cleared the early zones in Steal an Egg. It rewards patience more than luck, since farming crystals takes real time even if the actual mutation odds stay simple. Unlock the Crane first, build up your crystal stock during each Great Bloom window, and always save your strongest eggs for the incubator rather than testing them on pets you do not need. Do that consistently, and your pen’s income climbs a lot faster than relying on rarity alone.
