Adopt Me Amethyst Penguin – How to Get It, Odds and Neon Guide

Adopt Me has a new chase pet: purple, royal, and very hard to get. The Amethyst Penguin arrived on September 11, 2026, with the Star Rewards revamp. It hatches only from the new Gemstone Egg. We looked closely at its design, odds, and trading outlook. Here is everything you need to know before you start chasing it.

What Is the Amethyst Penguin in Adopt Me

The Amethyst Penguin is a Legendary pet and the main prize of the Star Rewards update. You can hatch it only from the Gemstone Egg. It is also the rarest pet inside that egg.

Adopt Me chose the older, rounder penguin model for this pet. We think that was a smart move. The classic shape looks cuter than the newer penguin designs, and it suits the royal theme. The game also teased the pet crashing down like a meteor, which fits its gemstone look.

This release also marks a big change in the game. The Diamond Egg and Golden Egg left the reward system with this update. That means the Diamond Unicorn is now a trade-only pet. If you love that unicorn, expect its value to climb over the coming months.

Amethyst Penguin Design, Neon, and Mega Neon

The base pet is a chubby, pastel purple penguin with dark eye markings. It wears a jeweled gold and magenta tiara. A matching royal cape with a high collar completes the look. The tiara and cape come as part of the pet, so you do not need to buy them separately.

The glowing versions look even better:

  • Neon: Light purple glow on the wings, feet, and parts of the cape and crown
  • Mega Neon: The same areas glow, but they cycle through rainbow colors
  • Neon cost: Four fully grown Amethyst Penguins
  • Mega Neon cost: Sixteen Amethyst Penguins in total

That last point matters a lot. Pulling even one Amethyst Penguin is tough. Collecting sixteen is a huge task. We expect the Mega Neon version to become one of the rarest flexes in Adopt Me.

How to Get the Amethyst Penguin

Every daily claim now gives you one Star and some Bucks. You then spend those Stars in a reward shop.

Follow these steps:

  • Open Star Rewards from your backpack
  • Press the green Claim button every day
  • Save up 28 Stars
  • Buy the Gemstone Egg and hatch it

Just joining a server does not count. You must press Claim to bank the day. A normal claim gives you 25 Bucks, and watching a short ad doubles that amount.

There is no Robux bundle for the egg at launch. So free players and paying players stand on equal ground here. You can also trade with other players for the pet or the egg itself.

Gemstone Egg Odds and What the Numbers Really Mean

The Gemstone Egg holds 11 pets, with five Ultra-Rare and six Legendary options. Each hatch gives you a 90% chance at an Ultra-Rare pet. You get a 9.95% chance at the other Legendaries. The Amethyst Penguin sits at just 0.05%. Familiar faces like the Ginger Cat, Orca, Pomeranian, Starfish, and Toucan fill the rest of the pool.

Now let us do the math. A 0.05% chance means roughly one penguin per 2,000 eggs. Free players earn one egg every 28 days, which is about 13 eggs a year. That gives you well under a 1% chance of hatching it in a full year. Hatching 2,000 eggs alone would take over 150 years.

That sounds harsh, but it is not the full picture. Millions of players will open these eggs every month. So Amethyst Penguins will show up in trades fairly quickly. Also, every egg still gives you a one-in-ten shot at some Legendary. That is a decent deal for a free login reward.

If you want better Legendary odds for fewer Stars, look at the other new egg. Our Adopt Me Royal Fairytale Egg odds and guide break down the full Star shop. That egg costs only 14 Stars and never hatches Common or Uncommon pets.

Should You Trade for the Amethyst Penguin

For most of us, trading is the realistic path. New pets usually see a big demand spike in their first few weeks. Prices then settle once more copies enter the market. If you are not in a rush, waiting a little can save you a lot.

Always trade inside the official trade window. Never accept deals that move outside the game. You can also open the in-game Journal and search for the pet. It shows the pet’s rarity and confirms it comes from the Gemstone Egg. This helps you spot fake claims from other traders.

We also suggest holding on to any Gemstone Egg you do not plan to hatch right away. Eggs from reward systems often gain trade value over time. This is especially true once players realize how slow they are to earn.

Tips to Get the Most From Star Rewards

Every Star equals one full day of logging in. So treat each one carefully. Here are our quick tips:

  • Skip the one-Star auras, since they vanish when you leave the server
  • Keep a Streak Saver in reserve for busy days
  • Always press Claim, even if you only play for a minute
  • Watch the ad when you can, since it doubles your Bucks

Decide your goal early. If you want a quick Legendary shot, the Royal Fairytale Egg makes more sense. If you want the Amethyst Penguin, save every Star for the Gemstone Egg.

Final Thoughts

The Amethyst Penguin is a gorgeous pet with brutal odds. We love that Adopt Me kept it free to earn with no Robux shortcut. Still, most players will need patience, smart trades, and a bit of luck. Log in daily, save your Stars, and do not waste them on short-term cosmetics.
