The Halloween event in Adopt Me kicked off on October 3, 2026. One of the first pets we can grab is the Mummy Spider. This rare pet costs no Robux and no Candy Corn. We only need keys and a little patience. Many players burn their keys early and start over, so we built this guide to help you avoid that.
What is the Mummy Spider in Adopt Me

The Mummy Spider is a limited rare pet from the Halloween Event 2026. It looks like a spider wrapped in old bandages, and it waits at the bottom of the Crypt. The Crypt is a new temporary area on Adoption Island. We earn this pet by clearing the Crypt, so no egg luck is involved.
The event runs until October 31. After that, trading becomes the only way to get one. No Neon version exists yet. Limited pets often get harder to find once an event closes, so we think early claiming is a smart move.
How to get the Mummy Spider in Adopt Me
You need Rusty Keys, which some players also call Crypt Keys. Head to the Crypt entrance near the Nursery and use a key on a grave. Each grave hides Candy Corn, Twigs, or a ladder to the next level. The Crypt has four levels in total. Here is the full route in short:
- Collect your Rusty Keys from daily tasks and the Ghost Gallery boss.
- Enter the Crypt and use a key on a grave.
- Take any ladder you reveal and move down.
- Clear all four levels to reach the Mummy Spider.
- Adopt the pet for free.
Once you adopt the spider, the Crypt caves in and resets. If you want any leftover Candy Corn or Twigs, grab them before you accept the pet. You can run the Crypt again whenever you hold fresh keys. Each full clear gives you one more spider.
How to earn Rusty Keys

Daily tasks give us four Rusty Keys. The Ghost Gallery boss gives one more. Open the Task Board from the icon on the left side of your screen. Then pick the Halloween tab with the pumpkin on it. Finish the pet need tasks while you keep a pet equipped.
Now press Claim yourself. Keys do not drop into your inventory automatically, and many players miss this step. Check your backpack under the Halloween category to confirm your count. Keep in mind that these keys cannot be traded. Each pet need you finish also pays 200 Candy Corn, so these tasks work twice for us.
Best Crypt strategy
Grave layouts change for every player. Copying a route from a video will not help, and it can waste your keys. We suggest one simple rule. Take the first ladder you find and go down.

Think about the math. Four daily keys plus one boss key gives us five keys for four levels. That leaves only one spare key. If you open extra graves on the early floors, you may run short on level three or four.
Players also report that leaving the Crypt or disconnecting resets your floor progress. So finish a run in one sitting. Plan around your time and your internet before you start.
- Take the first ladder you reveal.
- Open extra graves only when you hold spare keys.
- Finish the whole run in one session.
- Clear the Ghost Gallery first to collect your fifth key.
How the Ghost Gallery helps your run
The Ghost Gallery sits inside the Manor. Ghosts fly into furniture, and we use the Ghost Blaster to release them. Our pet sniffs them out, which makes the job easier. Beat the boss to earn Candy Corn and that extra Rusty Key.
We recommend running it before the Crypt, so you start with all five keys. The Candy Corn adds up fast too. You can save it for Jumpscare, which costs 40,000 Candy Corn at the Manor.
Other Crypt rewards worth knowing
Graves also drop Twigs. Collect eight Twigs to build a nest in the Hotel. That nest unlocks the Jacobin Pigeon, which costs 4,000 Candy Corn. So extra graves are not a total waste when you have keys to spare.
We also find a few items for sale near the Crypt:
- Glimmery Ivory Paint for 1,000 Bucks
- Orbweaver Glider for 59,000 Candy Corn
- Prop Whip for 1,950 Candy Corn
The Orbweaver Glider is ultra rare and costs a lot. We suggest saving toward it only after you secure the pets you want.
Should you trade for or keep the Mummy Spider
Rarity matters here. The Mummy Spider is only a Rare, so we should not expect huge trade value. Still, we do not recommend buying one during the event. You can earn it for free, and that beats paying with your pets.
Once the event ends, the supply stops growing. Neon pets need four full-grown pets of the same type. If a Neon version arrives later, players with extra spiders will be ready. Claim a few if your keys allow it.
Final thoughts
The Mummy Spider is one of the easiest limited pets we can earn this Halloween. Claim your daily keys, beat the Ghost Gallery boss, and take every first ladder. Do that, and you will hold a free rare pet well before the event ends on October 31.
Two quick notes. Your sources disagreed on whether the final altar costs Candy Corn, so I followed the official update, which says the spider is free. The fan wiki page and one of the sites blocked automated access or errored, so I filled those gaps with other search results.
