The Adopt Me Halloween 2026 event keeps adding pets, and the Shoebill asks the most of us. It arrived with the week three update on October 16. We cannot simply walk up and buy it. First, we must calm a very noisy Hotel. This guide covers the items we need, the exact steps, the cost, and a few tips that save keys.
What Is the Shoebill in Adopt Me

The Shoebill is an Uncommon pet. It costs 18,000 Candy Corn, but only after we finish its quest. The story is simple. An unsettled Shoebill stays at the Hotel, and the loud guests drive it mad. We help those guests settle down. Then the bird checks out and comes home with us.
Not every player will call it the cutest pet of the season. Still, it matters to collectors. For many of us, it was the last missing piece of the Halloween collection after week three.
How to Get the Shoebill in Adopt Me
Preparation decides how smooth this quest feels. We need to collect everything before we visit the Hotel. Here is the full list.

- Three pairs of Lost Socks
- One pair of Headphones
- Crypt Keys to open the graves
- 18,000 Candy Corn for the final purchase
Treat the Lost Socks and Headphones as items we must find ourselves. They belong to the quest, so we should not count on trades.
Where to Find the Lost Socks and Headphones
Both items hide inside the Crypt. We find it below the hill, next to the Manor. The Crypt has four floors, and each floor holds locked graves. Every grave costs a key to open, so each choice matters.
In one full run, the Headphones showed up on the second floor. The Lost Socks appeared across several floors. We found one pair early, then two more pairs on the lower levels. Some floors also need a ladder piece before we can go down. Candy Corn drops from graves help along the way.
After each find, we open the Halloween section of the backpack. Both items sit there. We can even equip the socks to see how they look. The Crypt resets after we finish a run, so we can go again if we miss something.
How to Finish the Hotel Quest

Next, we head to the Hotel. We walk to the side of the building where everything sounds loud. Rock music blasts at full volume there. We press the give headphones prompt at the noisy door, which is door five. The music turns muffled right away.
Now we find the guest who waits for his socks. We give him all three pairs. Another door opens, and the Shoebill unlocks. Its adopt prompt then appears, and we pay 18,000 Candy Corn.
The Hotel now has seven doors dealt with. We wonder if doors eight to fourteen will open in later weeks. That is only a guess, but saving a few keys costs us nothing.
Candy Corn Budget and the Best Buying Order
Candy Corn drains fast this week. The Shoebill costs 18,000. Our Boohoo pet guide shows that Boohoo costs 32,000. Stitches costs 70,000. Together, these three pets total 120,000 Candy Corn.
We suggest buying the Shoebill first. It costs the least, and its quest eats the most keys. Time also matters. The event ends on October 31, so we have about eleven days left. Crypt Keys cannot be traded, and daily Halloween tasks give only four per day. Wasting keys on graves we do not need will hurt us later.
The carnival minigame can close the gap. In Stitches’ Spotlight, we collect Candy Corn around the circus tent and dodge the spotlight. If it catches us, we lose the Candy Corn we carry. We cover every trick in our Stitches guide.
Should We Aim for a Neon Shoebill
A Neon pet needs four full-grown copies of the same pet. Four Shoebills cost 72,000 Candy Corn, and each one must age first. That is a big bet for an Uncommon pet. With the event closing soon, we should decide early. If we skip Neon, we can spend that Candy Corn on Stitches instead.
Quick Tips for Shoebill Hunters
- Collect every quest item before we spend Candy Corn on accessories.
- Check the backpack after each Crypt run to avoid repeat work.
- Save daily task keys, since we cannot trade them.
- Buy the Shoebill, then Boohoo, then Stitches.
- Keep an eye on the event timer from now on.
Final Thoughts
The Shoebill takes more effort than most Halloween pets, but the steps stay simple. We find the socks and headphones in the Crypt, calm the Hotel guests, and pay 18,000 Candy Corn. A little planning protects our keys and our Candy Corn. If we start now, we can finish the quest well before the event closes.
