The Xorcist Rod is one of the most unique additions from the Venue Encore update in Fisch. It looks like a black metal guitar with white outlines. It also brings a custom minigame and a brand new mutation. We broke down every quest step and added practical tips so you can finish faster. Let us get started.
Where to start Ken Carson’s questline
Ken Carson is a rapper making a guest appearance inside the Underground Music Venue. The venue sits in the Depths, so unlock it before anything else. Talk to Ken, and he hands you a four-part questline. You must finish the parts in order. Each quest drops a reward, so you gain useful cosmetics long before the rod arrives. We suggest preparing your gear first, because several steps need patience and a few totems.
Quest one: Underground Static

Ken asks for three Electric Minnows plus two extra items. Minnows are easy to catch in Roslit Bay. The hard part is the Electric mutation. We recommend starting a mutation surge with a totem. Then appraise your minnows in Tidefall with the Drowned Appraiser. Keep appraising until the Electric mutation appears. A Tempest Rod with Bagel Bait also works for catching minnows.
The second item appears as two Lobsters. Lobsters come from crab cages placed in the ocean, and any cheap cage works. Scrap Metal is a trash item that low-stat rods catch with garbage bait.
Turn the quest in to earn an Asterisk Bobber, an Asterisk title, and an enchant relic.
Quest two: Teen X

Now Ken wants one Shiny Musical Crab and three DJ Spinopus. Both live in Crystal Cove, the same area you cross to reach the venue. DJ Spinopus is a mythical fish. We fish near the bridge at night during clear weather. Snare bait is the preferred choice. A high-luck universal bait also works. The Stellarwave Melody Rod helps too.
The crab needs more setup. We place golden crab cages with Phosphor Jelly bait. Then we start a Shiny surge with a totem and add an Aurora totem for extra luck. Giving a cosmic relic to a relic construct pet adds more luck. This is an obtain quest, not catch and return. So you can appraise a normal crab until it turns Shiny.
Your reward is the exclusive X Halo.
Quest three: A Great Chaos

This quest asks for one Hexed Ancient Megalodon. Use the No-Life Rod, which gives a 50% chance of the Hexed mutation. Shark Head bait is the preferred bait. Trigger a Megalodon Hunt with a totem, then head to the spawn behind Ancient Isle. Time of day and weather do not matter here.
Here is our favorite tip. Equip Mariana’s Gauntlets before you start. They reveal the mutation the moment you pull up the fish. If it lacks Hexed, release it on purpose and keep your remaining hunt totems.
The second task is easy. Ken’s lost Stage Monitor sits right behind him, next to the drum kit. Interact with it, and the quest ends with a Stage Monitor Lantern.
Quest four: Xperiment
The final test asks you to catch one Apex fish with the Duskwire Rod. You can buy the Duskwire for 7.5 million after finishing the Hollow NPC quest in the same venue. Apex hunts follow a schedule, so check an online hunt timer and plan around it.
The Duskwire has a negative max weight and a tiny control bar. That makes it hard to use without preparation. We suggest this setup:
- Invincible enchant to fix the weight problem
- Herculean enchant to widen the control bar
- Shark Head bait at night
- Tempest totem for rain and Aurora totem for luck
If you handled the Noiseform Leviathan fight, this feels easier. Reel patiently, and the fish comes in. Our catch even rolled the Chaotic enchant, which is optional but looks great.
Return to Ken to collect the X title and the Xorcist Rod. If you love chasing rare rods, our guide on how to get the Omniscient Spinecaster Rod in Fisch covers another recent unlock worth your time.
Xorcist Rod stats

The rod trades speed for power. Infinite max weight means you never worry about heavy catches. Luck sits at a strong 200%. Control is tiny, but the passive ability makes up for it.
- Lure Speed: 75%
- Luck: 200%
- Control: 0.08
- Resilience: 25%
- Max Weight: Infinite
- Disturbance: +3
How the passive ability works
The Xorcist adds a custom interface above the normal minigame. It looks busy at first. A smaller bar with four sections charges as you fish. Each filled section stores one bite from a giant set of teeth. Press the right mouse button, and the rod chomps the fish. That boosts your catch progress instantly.
We recommend saving your charges instead of spending them early. Use them when the progress bar starts to drain or when a tough fish fights back. Three stored bites can turn a losing struggle into a quick win.
The Xperimental mutation
This rod can apply the Xperimental mutation. It multiplies fish value by 7x and adds strong visual effects. Some mutations go higher, like Mastered at 16x. Still, the Xorcist pairs this bonus with infinite weight and high luck. That combination suits mutation hunters who want steady profit.
Is the Xorcist Rod worth it?
We think so. The quest rewards alone justify the effort, and the rod feels different from anything else in Fisch. The bite mechanic rewards smart timing, not just stat checking. Prepare your totems and enchants early, and the questline moves smoothly. Players who enjoy a creative fishing minigame will love this one.
