Megumin has finally arrived in Roblox Anime Adventures, and players are already chasing her. She is the Explosion Mage from KonoSuba, and she comes as a limited secret unit with the Summer event. We checked how to unlock her, what evolution costs, and how her kit behaves in a match. Here is everything we think you should know before spending a single gem.
How to Get Megumin in Anime Adventures

You cannot summon Megumin from a banner, so keep your gems for other units. She drops from a secret portal, which makes her a luck-based chase. First, we clear the Summer Hunt stages. The Summer Hunt has 50 waves, and finishing them gives a chance at a Secret Portal. We want the Explosion Mage Portal specifically, and its drop rate is low.
Once the portal drops, follow these steps:
- Enter the Explosion Mage Portal.
- Clear all 30 waves inside it.
- Reach the final boss.
- Defeat her. She has 140 million HP.
- Collect your chance at Megumin.
The exact drop rate for Megumin is still unconfirmed. So we treat every portal like a single ticket. Bring your strongest damage dealers and set up your team before you enter. A failed boss run wastes a rare portal.
How to Evolve Megumin Into Explosion Mage (Archdemon)
Evolution makes Megumin far stronger, and the requirements are simple. You need these two things:
- 1 Staff of Explosions
- 7,500 takedowns
The Staff of Explosions costs 5,000 SummerPearls at the Summer Event Shop near spawn. You earn pearls by clearing summer stages. You can also buy them from the Travelling Merchant, who sells 500 pearls for 250 gems. That means a full staff costs 2,500 gems through the shop. We recommend farming instead, since gems matter more for future banners.
Takedowns come from Infinite Mode. Keep defeating enemies until the counter reaches 7,500. Check your math here, because a small mistake costs time. 3,500 plus 3,500 makes 7,000, not 7,500. So we always read the counter before walking to the Evolve area.
After you evolve, Megumin gains +20% attack and unlocks Explosion 100%. Run the Infinite Mode grind with a unit that already clears waves fast. It saves a lot of time.
Megumin Abilities and Passives

Megumin has two passives, and they define how she plays. Her first passive, Path of Explosion, makes her explosion area equal to her range. She fires Explosion 100% whenever her cooldown ends. Her second passive, Obsessive Specialization, applies cooldown buffs to both attack and range. Those buffs come from traits, potentials, curses, and relics.
That second passive is the hidden gem. A cooldown buff on most units only speeds up attacks. On Megumin, it also grows her reach. So every cooldown bonus gives us two upgrades at once.
Megumin Stats and Max Upgrade Breakdown
Her numbers look strange at first, but they make sense once we see the full picture. Her explosion starts around 124,000 damage. Upgrade six lifts it to about 865,000 damage with a 30-second SPA and 34.8 range. That range then grows to 52.2. Upgrade seven pushes her damage close to 1 million.
The final upgrade also lets us set a target zone anywhere inside her range. Then she powers up for 25 seconds, just like the anime. Once ready, she hits that zone for roughly 13 seconds. Moving the zone later takes a long cooldown, so we pick the spot carefully. Placement is also limited to two units, so every slot counts.
Why Her Design Fits the Anime
The developers copied her personality well. In KonoSuba, Megumin gives every skill point to one spell. She has high intelligence and magic power, yet she refuses to learn anything else. After each explosion, she collapses and cannot move.
Her unit mirrors that exactly. She hits enormous damage, but she waits a long time between attacks. She is a glass cannon in both the show and the game. We think that makes her fun, even with the slow SPA.
Is Megumin Worth Getting?
Yes, but only with the right setup. Her huge area damage suits bosses and crowded paths. A single blast can clear a packed lane. However, her long wait time leaves gaps. Early waves can slip through if we have nothing else to cover them.
A few tips make her much better:
- Pair her with cheap, fast units that handle early waves.
- Place her where paths overlap, so each blast hits more enemies.
- Pick cooldown-focused traits, since her passive boosts attack and range together.
Because she only has two placements, the Unique trait looks like her best option. We would test it before committing a lot of rerolls, though. Trait results vary, and the best pick depends on your team.
Final Thoughts
Megumin is one of the most exciting limited units in Anime Adventures right now. The unlock needs patience and luck, but evolving her is straightforward. Her passives reward smart trait choices, and her design matches the anime closely. If you land the Explosion Mage Portal, we say go for her. Prepare your team first, farm your pearls early, and keep an eye on that takedown counter.
