Steal an Egg Alien Mutation – How to Get It, Cost, and Chance

The Alien mutation in Steal an Egg landed with Update 11 on November 2, 2026. It kicks off the build-up to the Alien biome, which arrives on November 7. We cover every step here, from Paranoid Pete’s puzzle to the real cost of each attempt. You’ll also get a few tactics to waste less Debris.

What Is the Alien Mutation in Steal an Egg?

The Alien mutation is a crystal consumable. You use it on an egg in your pen. If the attempt works, the egg gets the Abducted mutation. The names confuse many players. The shop labels the crystal Alien Mutation, while the egg and the hatched pet show Abducted. Treat them as one system.

Abducted gives a 2.5x multiplier and a green glow on the egg. That ties it with Rainbow, one of the best mutations from normal egg spawns. The big difference is control. You do not wait for a lucky spawn. You earn the crystal and try again whenever you want.

How to Start the UFO Invasion Event

Everything begins with Paranoid Pete at spawn. His communication machine is broken, and nobody believes his alien stories. Talk to him and accept the repair task. The puzzle is a simple pipe-style layout. You rotate the pieces until the signal flows, and it takes under a minute.

Once the machine works, Pete hands you the Signal Decoder. You need it to track every UFO from now on. Keep it ready before the half-hour mark.

How to Get UFO Debris

A UFO appears somewhere on the map every 30 minutes, at:00 and:30. Here is the full loop in short.

  • Equip the Signal Decoder and follow the signal toward the UFO.
  • Find three eggs with the Abducted effect. Players call them suspicious eggs.
  • Carry each egg to the UFO and deliver all three.
  • Collect the UFO Debris the ship drops afterward.

The first run is friendly. The game marks the eggs for you. Later runs give no markers, so we must search the biome ourselves. You also face a timer of about two minutes. Grab the nearest eggs first and skip the fancy ones. A big egg can block your path, so move it aside before you pick up the next one.

Payouts vary a little. One run paid about 2,000 Debris, while another paid about 1,800 after a larger egg went in. That is a small sample, but it hints that egg size does not raise your reward. Rare UFOs can also appear. Some players get abducted and can smash incubators inside the ship, which reports call the fastest way to earn Debris.

Alien Mutation Cost and Success Chance

Each crystal costs 500 UFO Debris. Each attempt has a 15% chance to apply Abducted. A failed attempt still uses up the crystal, so plan for misses.

The math helps us set honest expectations. At 15%, you need about six or seven crystals on average. That equals roughly 3,300 Debris. One 2,000 Debris run buys four crystals, so expect around two runs per Abducted egg. Bad luck can push that higher. In one test, four crystals failed on the first egg. A second run with three more crystals finally landed it.

How to Apply the Alien Mutation

Place your egg in the pen and select the crystal. Then use it on the egg. You can repeat until it lands or your crystals run out. Choose your target with care, because that egg decides how much the mutation is worth.

A high-value egg usually gives the best return. Size is not everything, though. One test showed a small Celestial Sunlion at 57,000 KG reaching 67 billion per second with several mutations stacked. A bigger one at 129,000 KG made 64 billion with only two. Stacking beat raw size.

That small pet started near 5 billion per second. The stack lifted it by about 13.4 times. This is the real lesson of the update. Abducted works best as one layer in a bigger build.

Smart Tips Before You Spend Debris

  • Stack other mutations on the same egg. Enchanted sits near 25% and Nitro near 10%.
  • Save your Musical mutation. It reportedly guarantees success, but you get only one.
  • Skip low-value eggs. A weak base pet wastes a rare crystal.
  • Set a reminder for:00 and:30 so you never miss a UFO.

We also suggest working in batches. Farm two or three runs, then apply every crystal in one sitting. This keeps your focus on the numbers and stops you from burning crystals on a bad egg. What to Expect From the Alien Biome

The Alien biome is listed for Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 16:00 UTC. Developers call it the biggest biome in the game. This update only sets the stage for it.

Final Thoughts

The Alien mutation is an easy event to enjoy. The puzzle is short, the UFO loop is quick, and the reward can boost your income. Treat each crystal as a 15% bet, pick your eggs wisely, and stack mutations when you can. We will keep tracking the biome launch and update our guides as new details appear.
