DOORS 1–5: SAFE TUTORIAL ROOMS

What to Expect

These rooms teach you basic mechanics:

  • drawers
  • keys (usually Door 1 or 2)
  • simple halls
  • no monsters spawn in this range

What To Do

  • Loot drawers for lighter, vitamins, bandages
  • Collect the key if the door is locked
  • Move forward safely

No threats
No puzzles
No monsters

DOORS 6–9: SAFE BUT MAY INCLUDE FIRST DARK ROOM

Threats

  • Screech (only if a room is pitch-dark)

What to Do

If the room is dark:

  1. Equip lighter/flashlight
  2. Listen for “pssst!”
  3. When heard → look around quickly
  4. Stare at Screech directly → he vanishes

Tip

Try not to waste lighter fuel in large rooms – hug the walls and search for the glowing exit door.

DOOR 10: FIRST POSSIBLE RUSH APPEARANCE

Monster: Rush

Trigger Signs

  • Lights flicker strongly
  • Distant rumbling sound

How to Escape

  1. Immediately enter a closet or hide under a bed
  2. Wait until Rush passes
  3. Continue forward – he opens the next door for you

DOORS 11–14: MIX OF SAFE + RANDOM DARK ROOMS

Nothing fixed here, but all possibilities begin:

  • dark rooms
  • early Screech
  • occasional key rooms

If you get a locked room:

  • search drawers
  • key always spawns in that room
  • no backtracking in early doors

DOORS 15–19: RUSH FREQUENCY INCREASES

How To Survive

  • When lights flicker → hide
  • Don’t hide too early (Heartbeat warning works only when monster is close)

Tip

Never waste time in large rooms – Rush can spawn before you find the next closet.

DOOR 20: GUARANTEED RUSH CHECKPOINT

Not always lethal, but the game uses this door to start real danger.

What to Do

  • Stand in the hallway
  • Watch for flicker
  • If flicker → hide
  • If not → continue safely

DOORS 21–25: DUPES START APPEARING

Dupe hides behind wrong-numbered doors.

How to Avoid

  • Check the previous door number
  • Look at the two doors
  • Correct one is always +1 from last door

What Happens If Wrong Door is Opened

  • Dupe jumpscares you
  • Deals 40 HP
  • You still cannot open the wrong door

DOORS 26–29: RUSH & DARK ROOMS MIX

Notable hazards:

  • Many dark rooms
  • Screech very common
  • Rush sometimes spawns shortly after a dark room → be alert

Survival Tip

NEVER rush into a dark room. Enter slowly, listen for Rush, then proceed.

DOOR 30: SEEK BUILDUP BEGINS

From Door 30–39 you may see:

  • eyes on walls
  • glowing purple eye lights
  • distorted rooms

No monsters attack while eyes are visible (Rush cannot spawn).

DOORS 31–39: SEEK SIGN ROOMS (SAFE)

These rooms look creepy, but:
✔ No Rush
✔ No Screech
✔ No Ambush
✔ No Dupe
✔ No Halt

You are safe until the actual chase begins.

DOOR 40-42: SEEK CHASE #1 STARTS

How It Works

You enter a hall with Seek rising from the floor. Chase begins.

How To Escape

Follow these steps:

  1. Follow blue lights (they mark the correct path)
  2. Crouch under obstacles
  3. Avoid fire patches
  4. Avoid falling hands

Tip

Stick to the center of hallways.
Path is fixed:
Left → Right → Forward → Left → Forward → Exit

(Varies slightly but always blue-guided.)

DOORS 43-49: SAFE RECOVERY ROOMS

After the chase, these rooms are mostly:

  • simple halls
  • item rooms
  • key rooms

No monsters except:

  • Rush (rare here)
  • Screech (if dark)

DOOR 50: FIGURE LIBRARY BOSS ROOM

Monster: Figure (blind but excellent hearing)

GOAL

Collect 8 books, then decode the 5-digit lock.

How to Collect Books

  • Books stick slightly out
  • They make a small rustling sound
  • While crouched, Figure cannot hear your footsteps well

How to Solve the Lock

On the desk you find a code sheet with symbols:

Symbol = Digit position
Book’s color = The actual number

Example:

  • Square = 5
  • Circle = 7
  • Pentagon = 1
  • X = 3
  • Star = 2

Enter the correct 5-digit sequence.

How to Defeat/Bypass Figure

You cannot kill Figure normally.

But you can:

  • use Crucifix (stuns Figure temporarily)
  • or simply avoid him by crouching and staying away

Best Strategy

  • Stay upstairs when Figure walks below
  • Wait for him to go far away
  • Enter code
  • Escape quietly

DOOR 51: SHOP & HEAL ROOM (SAFE)

Always buy:

  • Crucifix
  • Vitamins
  • Lockpick

DOORS 52-59: SAFE/LOW-THREAT ROOMS

Mostly:

  • simple hallways
  • dark rooms
  • possible Rush spawn

Nothing major.

DOOR 60: LEVER ROOM

You MUST pull a lever in a basement room.

Puzzle

  • Go down the stairs
  • Navigate the long hall
  • Pull the lever
  • Return upstairs
  • Door unlocks on its own

Secret

This room connects to The Rooms (secret level) if you have Skeleton Key + 2 Lockpicks and unlock Door 61’s plant room.

DOOR 61: THE PLANT ROOM (SECRET ENTRANCE)

If you’re entering The Rooms, this is where you open the A-000 door.

If not → proceed normally.

Safe room.

DOORS 62-69: INCREASING RUSH & DARK ROOMS

Things to note:

  • Rush is frequent
  • Screech in dark rooms
  • Dupe can appear
  • Long hallways = possible Rush spawn

Tip

Stay near closets.

DOOR 70: DANGER INCREASES (AMBUSH POSSIBLE)

Ambush can start spawning from this point.

How to Survive Ambush

  • Lights flicker longer than normal
  • Ambush passes through the hallway multiple times
  • Hide → leave → hide → leave → hide

Repeat 3–6 cycles.

DOORS 71-79: DARK ZONE

Heavily dark rooms.

Threats:

  • Screech (very common)
  • Rush
  • Rare Ambush

Tip

Walk slowly and conserve lighter fuel.
Screech spawns if you stare at walls too long in darkness.

DOORS 80-84: SEEK CHASE #2 BUILDUP

Eyes appear again.

No monsters spawn during this buildup.

DOORS 85-90: SEEK CHASE #2

Harder version of the first chase:

  • faster
  • more fire
  • tighter halls
  • hands appear earlier

How to Escape

Same rules: follow blue lights, crouch under obstacles, avoid fire.

Vitamins help massively.

DOORS 91-99: THE GREENHOUSE (MOST DANGEROUS SECTION)

This is the hardest part of DOORS.

Environment

  • Full darkness
  • Plants/snare traps on floor
  • Rush very frequent
  • Screech constant
  • Ambush possible

Snare Traps

Hidden green plants on the floor that grab your leg.

How to avoid:

  • Keep flashlight pointed at the floor
  • Stay close to walls
  • Move slowly

Rush in Greenhouse

Rush spawns silently sometimes.

How to Survive

  • Move cautiously
  • Stay near closets
  • Listen for ANY sound

If lights flicker → hide immediately.

Ambush Here

Ambush can wipe players instantly because closets are limited.

Pro Strategy

Hide in closet → wait → leave → hide again
Never stay in one place more than 1 second.

DOOR 100: FIGURE FINALE

This is the final boss puzzle.

Step-by-Step Puzzle Solution

1. Enter the lobby

Figure appears → cutscene plays → he chases you upstairs.

2. Reach the breaker room

Crouch or walk slowly.

3. Solve the Breaker Puzzle

You receive a panel with switches.

Each switch has a number (1–10).
The screen shows numbers that MUST be turned ON.

Example:
Screen shows:
1, 5, 7, 9
→ Turn ON switches 1, 5, 7, 9
→ Turn OFF everything else

You must complete multiple stages (usually 2–3).

4. Avoid Figure

He wanders outside breaker room.

5. Run to the elevator

Once puzzle is complete:

  • Elevator opens
  • Figure charges you
  • Cutscene triggers
  • You escape
