Swapsaken in Forsaken Roblox – Survivors, Killer Abilities, and Tips for the April Fools Mode

Forsaken is no stranger to creative updates, but the April Fools 2026 drop may be the most ambitious thing the development team has pulled off yet. Released as a limited-time update, Swapsaken arrived alongside new and old April Fools skins as a completely separate experience within the Forsaken universe. The concept is as simple as it is wild: killers become survivors, and survivors become killers. If you have been curious about how it all works, this guide breaks down every character, every ability, and what playing each role actually feels like in practice.

What Is Swapsaken?

Swapsaken is an updated version of Forsaken 2, released on April 2nd, 2026. The roles have been completely reversed, with the killer becoming a survivor and the survivor becoming a killer, while the basic system of the game remains unchanged.

To access the mode, you need to locate a specific building on the map and jump into a hole within it. The game does not advertise the entry point loudly, so newcomers will need to explore a little before they find it. Once inside, you are presented with a character select screen that is entirely different from the standard Forsaken roster. There are three new survivors and one brand new killer, none of whom exist in the base game. Killers must get away from the survivors, while survivors must destroy the killers and leave none standing. That reversal of objectives is the core of what makes Swapsaken feel so fresh.

The Three New Survivors

The Kid

The Kid is the most fully realized of the three survivors and the one most players will enjoy the most. His kit is built around mobility and strategic placement, giving him more counterplay potential than the other two options.

His abilities include the following:

  • Walk Speed Override: This activates a temporary speed boost that functions similarly to Elliot’s Rush Hour ability in standard Forsaken, granting Speed II for five seconds.
  • Pizza Delivery: The Kid summons a robot at his current position. Up to two robots can exist at a time, and the killer cannot damage them. If a third robot is summoned, the first one is automatically destroyed.
  • Cool GUI: This ability has a 30-second cooldown and allows The Kid to teleport to one of his active robots, chosen at random. If The Kid is unharmed when he teleports, the robot explodes on arrival, launching any nearby killer into the air.

The combination of teleportation and explosive robots makes The Kid the only survivor in Swapsaken who can meaningfully punish an aggressive killer. Players who set up their robots in advance and manage the cooldown carefully will find the most success with him. The tradeoff is that The Kid requires preparation and map awareness. Going in blind usually ends badly.

The Corrupted (John Doe)

The Corrupted is themed around the corrupted version of John Doe and comes with two abilities: Digital Footprint and Corrupt Energy.

  • Digital Footprint: This places a marker at a chosen location. It appears to slow down or affect the killer in some way, though the exact interaction is inconsistent.
  • Corrupt Energy: This launches a projectile or energy burst, but it has a very short effective range and limited knockback, making it difficult to land reliably.

In practice, The Corrupted has the weakest kit of the three survivors. The abilities are not tuned for direct confrontation, and the damage or stun output from Corrupt Energy does not hold up against the killer’s movement speed and aggression. The Digital Footprint’s trap function also had little practical effect on the killer, functioning more as a cosmetic marker than a reliable tool. The Corrupted is worth trying once to understand how his abilities are intended to work, but most players will move on fairly quickly.

The Poisoned (1x1x1x1)

The Poisoned is the third and final survivor, designed around the 1x1x1x1 character model. His abilities are Entanglement and Unstable Eye.

  • Unstable Eye: This ability reveals the killer’s location on the screen, giving the survivor constant awareness of where the threat is. It does not grant extra movement speed in this mode.
  • Entanglement: This launches a ranged attack that pushes the killer back slightly. At close range, it also applies a short stun, making it more effective as a reactive tool than a ranged one.

The Poisoned uses voice lines taken from the Betrayed 1x skin, one of the 1x1x1x1 cosmetics, since Swapsaken was an April Fools commemorative game without original character dialogue.

The Poisoned works best when you treat Unstable Eye as your primary advantage. Knowing exactly where the killer is at all times allows you to plan your loops more precisely. The knockback from Entanglement is not reliable enough to carry a chase on its own, but it can buy a few seconds in a desperate situation. Some players have found success camping elevated spots where the killer cannot follow due to jump height restrictions, using Unstable Eye to track movement from safety and Entanglement to discourage approach.

The New Killer: Swordmaster (Shedletsky)

The Swordmaster is the sole killer in Swapsaken and the centerpiece of the mode. He is described in-game as Swordmaster Shedletsky, which is a reference to the name swap logic the entire mode is built around. His three abilities are Slash Lunge, Launch, and Band Blaster.

  • Slash Lunge: A melee ability that allows the Swordmaster to close distance rapidly. It is the primary tool for catching survivors who are trying to create separation.
  • Launch: A mobility skill that propels the killer upward or forward, allowing him to reach elevated spots and overcome terrain that survivors might try to use as cover.
  • Band Blaster: A shotgun-style ranged attack with high burst damage. It is difficult to land at long range but devastating at close to medium distance.

Some killers in the mode have movement abilities that make them much harder to escape. There is a dash-style ability that lets them close distance suddenly, meaning survivors cannot rely on running alone and actually need to use terrain and other tools to survive.

The Swordmaster also has a custom chase theme that plays when he gets close to a survivor, adding to the overall atmosphere of the mode. His targeting behavior is described by multiple players as extremely aggressive and lock-in style, meaning he tends to commit fully to one target rather than switching. This makes him predictable in some ways but nearly impossible to shake once he has committed.

How to Survive as a Survivor

Given how strong the Swordmaster is, surviving a full round requires discipline. Here are the most reliable strategies players have found:

  • Use terrain aggressively: Tall walls and barriers that the killer cannot jump over create safe zones, particularly when playing as The Poisoned.
  • Set up robots early: If you are playing as The Kid, place your robots in escape routes or corners before the killer reaches you so teleportation is always available.
  • Track the killer constantly: Unstable Eye is best used for loop planning rather than direct confrontation. Know where the killer is before he reaches you.
  • Do not waste cooldowns: Both The Kid and The Poisoned have abilities with significant cooldowns. Using them reactively rather than proactively will leave you exposed.

Between swapped roles, new abilities, and aggressive killer behavior, no two matches in Swapsaken play the same way. Most of the time, players are figuring out their approach mid-chase.

General Impressions and Why It Works

What makes Swapsaken stand out is how cohesive the design feels despite being a limited-time April Fools mode. The Swordmaster is clearly overpowered by design, which is part of the joke, but all three survivors have enough going on that skilled players can extend rounds meaningfully. The basic system of Forsaken remains unchanged underneath the role reversal, which means anyone familiar with the base game can pick up Swapsaken without needing a tutorial.

The mode also benefits from small details that show care in execution. The Swordmaster has a custom chase theme. The Kid’s robot mechanic is unique enough to serve as a real survivor ability in the standard game. Even the weaker survivors have abilities that interact with the map in interesting ways, even if the numbers are not tuned favorably.

Forsaken itself is an asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game released on December 25th, 2024 by the Forsaken Dev Group, currently led by Hytok0 and cowoika. Given how polished the base game already is, the team’s ability to ship a fully functional and entertaining alternate mode for a holiday event speaks to how much creative capacity the dev group is working with.

Swapsaken is well worth your time before it disappears. Jump in, experiment with all three survivors, and work your way up to the Swordmaster once you have enough Malice accumulated. The mode is chaotic, unbalanced in the best way possible, and genuinely fun to play with or against friends.
