Pokemon Pokopia Update 1.0.4 Patch Notes – All Bug Fixes and Improvements

Pokemon Pokopia has received yet another update, bringing the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive life simulation game to Version 1.0.4. If you have been experiencing odd bugs or frustrating quest blocks, the Pokopia update today is exactly what you needed. Here is everything you need to know about this Pokopia patch, including the full patch notes, what has changed, and how to install the update.

What Is the Pokopia 1.0.4 Update?

The Pokopia update 1.0.4 arrived on April 22, 2026, and covers a range of improvements and bug fixes across multiple areas of the game. The headline change is a new quality-of-life improvement for players who enjoy rearranging their towns during live events. Beyond that, the Pokopia patch notes list more than ten targeted fixes addressing progression blockers, NPC behavior issues, and some annoying visual glitches. This Pokopia update is also required for your game to connect online, so installing it immediately is strongly recommended.

Key Improvement: Relocating Pokemon Centers During Events

The most notable addition in the Pokopia update today is the ability to move Pokemon Centers while in-game events are active. Previously, players had to wait until an event concluded before making structural changes involving Pokemon Centers. With Version 1.0.4, you can now relocate Pokemon Centers while in-game events are underway, giving players much more flexibility when customizing their towns mid-event. This was a frequently requested quality-of-life change, and its inclusion speaks to the developers’ ongoing responsiveness to community feedback.

The following issues have been resolved in this Pokopia patch:

  • In Bleak Beach, the request “Wanted: Food!” could not be progressed under certain conditions.
  • In Bleak Beach, performing certain actions would prevent the request “Pool repair needed!” from appearing.
  • After completing “Pool repair needed!” in Bleak Beach, it was sometimes impossible for the player to have Happiny accompany them.
  • In the Sparkling Skylands, during the request “Pokemon Center tour guide!”, performing certain actions could prevent the player from having Tinkmaster accompany them, making the request impossible to progress.
  • Performing certain actions would cause Professor Tangrowth to stop appearing altogether.
  • If certain Pokemon were waiting to appear, other Pokemon would sometimes also fail to show up.
  • Performing certain actions could make Peakychu, Chef Dente, and Tinkmaster unable to leave town, preventing requests from being progressed.
  • Under certain conditions, picking up a relocation kit (prepared) would leave behind indestructible platforms.
  • Accessing the Pokemon Center PC with certain save data would cause the game to freeze.
  • During in-game events, rebuilding a Pokemon Center using certain actions would cause its decorations to appear floating.
  • During in-game events, trades could not be conducted at the Pokemon Centers on Cloud Islands.

Several of these fixes are particularly important for players deep into Bleak Beach content, as multiple quest lines in that area were susceptible to softlocking under specific conditions.

How to Install the Pokopia Update

If you have automatic updates enabled on your Nintendo Switch 2, the Pokopia update today should have downloaded in the background already. The update will download and install automatically if the console is connected to the internet and the Software Auto-Updates setting is enabled on your Nintendo Switch 2 console.

If you need to install it manually, here is how to do it:

  1. Connect your Nintendo Switch 2 console to the internet.
  2. From the HOME Menu, select the Pokemon Pokopia icon without launching the game.
  3. Press the + Button or the – Button on your controller. The current version number will display under the software title.
  4. Select “Software Update,” followed by “Over the Internet.”

Note that all players must be using the same version of the software to play together, so make sure you and anyone you play with have the same update version installed before jumping into multiplayer.
