The Galactic Event has finally arrived in Survive Zombie Arena, and honestly, we were not ready for how much it changes the game. This limited-time event runs from May 19 to May 26, 2026, and it brought a brand new map, a new event currency, exclusive weapons, and galactic crates packed with some of the strongest guns we have ever seen in this game. If you are still trying to figure out what is going on, we have you covered. We played through the entire thing, tested every weapon, and figured out the best way to farm void shards fast. Here is everything you need to know.
What Is the Galactic Event?
The Galactic Event is a limited-time update in Survive Zombie Arena that introduces a new event currency called void shards. You use these shards to open galactic crates, and each crate costs 50 shards to open. Inside those crates, you can find some seriously powerful new weapons that blow most of the base game guns out of the water. We opened dozens of crates ourselves, and the results were wild.

The event also brings a brand new map called Atlantis. You can access it by going to your ship, clicking on the map selector, and choosing Atlantis. It supports the same difficulty modes as the original map, including Normal, Hardcore, and Nightmare. The map is surprisingly large, with multiple paths, a staircase leading to an upper area, and several corners you can use for safe farming. We will get to that in a bit.

Before you do anything else in this event, make sure you redeem the code Galactic in the shop. It gives you a 2x void shard boost for 24 hours. This is one of the most valuable things you can do on day one because shards are the backbone of the entire event economy.

How to Farm Void Shards
This is where things get interesting. Void shards do not drop from regular zombies. They only drop from special Galactic zombies, which are purple-colored and have a glowing orb above their head. These event zombies have roughly a 0.5% to 1.25% spawn rate depending on the difficulty mode, though we noticed they start appearing much more frequently at higher waves.
Here is the most important thing to know about collecting shards: they do not auto-collect. You have to physically walk over to them and pick them up. This means you cannot fully AFK without some setup. However, there is a method that gets around this almost entirely.

The AFK Ledge Method:
- Switch to Hardcore mode on the Atlantis map for the best shard-per-hour rate.
- Find the ledge near the edge of the map where zombies physically cannot reach you due to a pathing bug.
- Position your character right at the edge so you are barely hanging off.
- Equip a flamethrower and use an auto clicker to hold down the fire button continuously.
- The flamethrower sprays into the crowd below, dealing constant area damage while you stay completely safe.
- On mobile, you can use the auto shoot feature instead of a third-party auto clicker.
We tested this method ourselves, and it genuinely works. The flamethrower melts through entire groups of Galactic zombies without you needing to move. The best part is that unlike other farming setups, the void shards in this method are auto-collected as zombies die beneath the ledge. You can realistically farm thousands of shards per hour using this glitch before it potentially gets patched.
One thing we did notice is that if you corner farm inside the map without going back out, zombies can start piling up outside and cause lag, especially on mobile. Make sure you occasionally run out and clear the exterior crowd to keep things smooth.

All New Galactic Weapons Ranked
The galactic crates contain four new weapons, and we maxed out and tested all of them. Here is our honest breakdown:
Cosmic Pistol (7% drop chance): This thing is an absolute beast for early game. It starts at 3,000 damage unupgraded, which is roughly 10 times stronger than a fully upgraded Dual Pistol. We were one-shotting Nightmare mode zombies with it right out of the crate. If you pull this early, your credit farming speed will shoot through the roof.

Quasar (slightly more rare): The Quasar is a spray machine. It deals less raw damage per shot compared to the Cosmic Pistol, but the fire rate is borderline insane. We are talking about Arctic-tier damage at a fraction of the cost and effort. It shreds packs of zombies in seconds.

Pulsar (mid-tier): The Pulsar sits at around 1,600 damage and has a small visual explosion effect on hit. We want to be honest here though, that explosion does not have true AoE radius damage. It looks flashier than it actually performs. It is decent but not a priority pull.
Interstellar (0.003% to 0.1% drop chance, reports vary): This is the crown jewel of the entire event. We grinded over 3,000 shards to unlock it, and the moment we equipped it, we understood the hype. The Interstellar starts at 36,000 base damage and fully upgrades to around 71,000 damage. For context, a fully upgraded World Ender sits at 79,000. The upgrade cost is around 1.8 million credits, which is significantly less than the 3.5 million the World Ender demands.

What makes the Interstellar truly special is its unique ability. After 150 kills, you can activate a black hole that pulls every nearby zombie into a single point and then detonates. We watched it wipe entire hordes in seconds. The World Ender versus Interstellar debate is real, and honestly, for most players, the Interstellar is the smarter choice simply because of how much cheaper it is to obtain and upgrade.
Tips to Make the Most of This Event
Since the event is time-limited, here are the practical things we recommend doing right away:
- Redeem the Galactic code immediately for the 24-hour 2x shard boost. Do not wait.
- Play on Hardcore mode for the best balance of zombie density and personal survivability.
- Use the ledge AFK method with a flamethrower if you want to farm passively.
- Prioritize pulling crates early. The Cosmic Pistol alone will carry your early-game credit farming dramatically.
- If you are lucky enough to pull the Interstellar, invest in upgrading it. It competes directly with the World Ender at a much lower credit cost.
- Do not overlook the Atlantis map corners for manual farming. There are multiple corner spots on both the upper and lower levels that work well for staying safe while dealing damage.
The Galactic Event is genuinely one of the best limited-time updates this game has received. The new weapons are not just cosmetically cool, they are functionally broken in the best way possible. Even the lower-rarity Cosmic Pistol makes the early game feel completely different. If you are a newer player who has been struggling to farm credits, pulling that gun from a crate will change your entire experience.
We will keep testing and updating as we learn more. Make sure you act fast because this event ends May 26, and once it is gone, these weapons and crates go with it.
