Roblox Fisch Shady Bazaar: How to Unlock It and What You Get Inside

If you play Fisch on Roblox, you already know how exciting it gets when the developers drop a new update. The Shady Bazaar, released on May 23, 2026, is exactly that kind of update. It introduces a hidden underground marketplace beneath Moosewood Village, and getting inside is not as simple as walking up to a door. We are going to walk you through everything, from unlocking it to spending your hard-earned Shady Scripts wisely.

What Is the Shady Bazaar in Fisch?

The Shady Bazaar is a secret underground area tucked beneath Moosewood Village. It is not visible on any map, and you cannot simply stumble into it. The developers designed it around mystery, investigation, and timed NPC encounters. Think of it like a black market that actually rewards patient players. Inside, you will find eight different shops, a brand-new companion, two exclusive rods, three new baits, rare goods, and a new currency called Shady Scripts (S$). It is safe to say that this is one of the more lore-driven updates Fisch has put out in a while.

One important thing to know before you start: you must have caught fish worth more than 250,000 C$ before you can actually enter the Bazaar, even after completing the unlock quest. So if you are a newer player, focus on building up your catch value first.

How to Unlock the Shady Bazaar

Unlocking the Shady Bazaar takes a little patience, but it is very doable once you know the steps.

Step 1: Talk to Todd

Head to Moosewood Village and find Todd. He is lying on the bunk bed inside the blue hut, which is the same spot you teleport to when you arrive at Moosewood. Talk to him and keep choosing the first dialogue option every time. He will give you a quest called “Whispers Below: The Three,” which tasks you with finding three mysterious nighttime figures.

Step 2: Find the Three Night Figures

This is the part that confuses most players. All three figures only spawn at night, and they appear one at a time with a roughly 3-minute gap between each spawn. Weather does not affect their spawning, so you do not need to use a sundial or wait for specific conditions. Just make sure it is nighttime and be patient.

  • Lantern Figure: Spawns on a circular platform near the Challenges NPC area. Talk to it and choose “Huh?” to receive the Tarnished Lantern.
  • Diver: Spawns near the pond at the center of Moosewood Village. Same process, and you get the Barnacled Hook Bobber.
  • Watchman: Spawns to the right of the Diver’s location, near the wooden fence on the island’s edge. Talk to it and receive the Crow Feather Charm.

Make sure you equip all three items after collecting them. This part is easy to miss.

Step 3: Solve the Lighthouse Riddle

Return to Todd, say “Thanks, Todd,” and then head to the lighthouse. Your quest should now show “Coded Words” on the top left. With all three items equipped, speak to the mysterious figure at the lighthouse. Choose these dialogue options in order:

  • Option 1: “Light keeps honest folk safe.”
  • Option 1: “The sea gives things up eventually.”
  • Option 3: “Trust isn’t given down there. It’s survival.”

Confirm with “Yes,” then speak to the Bazaar Guard, who tells you to mind your manners. You are now officially inside the Shady Bazaar.

What Is Inside the Shady Bazaar?

Once you are in, you will find eight shops all using the Shady Scripts currency. The only exceptions are the Scrip Vendor and the Black Market, which operate differently. Here is a quick look at what each area offers:

  • Companion Dealer: Sells the new companion Smudge.
  • Rod Dealer: Stocks the Moonlit Rod (75 S$) and the Shady Rod (4,000 S$).
  • Title Writer: Sells exclusive titles, including the Shady title and an investigator-themed one.
  • Bait Dealer: Offers Barnacle Cluster, Blackwater Leech, and Shady Larvae.
  • Rare Goods Dealer: Currently sells the Invincible Relic and the Starfall Totem.
  • Scrip Vendor: Lets you exchange your in-game cash for Shady Scripts at a rate of 100,000 C$ per 1 S$.

The Black Market is a separate vendor that operates on a timed window. It goes live one hour after the update drops, and each item stays available for roughly one hour at a time. Keep a close eye on it because once the weekend ends, this vendor goes back to sleep.

How to Earn Shady Scripts

Shady Scripts are the Bazaar’s exclusive currency, and there are a few ways to earn them. The most direct method is through the Scrip Vendor. You hand over 100,000 C$ and receive 1 S$. That means if you want the Shady Rod at 4,000 S$, you would need to spend 400 million C$. Yes, that is a steep price, and it is not realistic for most players right now.

A smarter long-term strategy is to earn Scripts gradually. The Shady Angler NPC inside the Bazaar gives daily quests that reward Scripts. For example, catching and returning one Blight Idol gives you 80 S$. The Admin Relic NPC also gives 50 S$ if you were online when the Admin Relic was originally handed out. If you missed it, you can still buy the relic for 100 S$.

Another passive way to collect Scripts is through Smudge, which we cover in detail below.

Fisch Smudge: The New Companion and Why You Should Care

Smudge is the standout addition of this update. We think it is one of the most interesting companions added to Fisch because of how uniquely its passives work.

Smudge has three passive abilities. First, every one to two minutes, it automatically catches a random trash fish from whatever area you are in. That trash fish comes with the Sludge mutation, which gives it a 2.5x multiplier. Second, while you walk around the Shady Bazaar with Smudge equipped, there is a rare chance that it will pick up one Shady Script for you. Third, any fish you hook while using Smudge has its movement speed reduced by 20%. You will know it is working because the fish turns purple, just like the purple trail Smudge leaves while moving.

During foggy weather, all of these effects get a boost. The trash fish interval is cut in half, meaning it can trigger every 30 to 60 seconds. The Script-collection chance also increases in fog. If you are actively fishing for progression, foggy weather plus Smudge is a strong combination.

Leveling up Smudge works differently from other companions. Every Shady Script you earn through gameplay gives Smudge XP. However, Scripts bought through the Scrip Vendor do not count toward this XP, so keep that in mind if you are trying to level it up.

The Two New Rods: Moonlit vs. Shady

Moonlit Rod (75 S$)

The Moonlit Rod has solid base stats: lure speed 78%, luck 160%, control 0.05, resilience 30%, and max kg of 250. Its real value comes from its passive. After catching 10 fish at nighttime, you get the Moonlit Blessing, which adds 75% luck, 25 progression, and a 100% chance for the Lunar mutation. During a Moonlit Mirage event, the blessing goes into overdrive. It doubles all listed effects and adds a 25% size bonus. For players who fish actively at night, this rod offers strong value at a low S$ cost.

Shady Rod (4,000 S$)

The Shady Rod is a much bigger investment. Its stats are impressive: lure speed 80%, luck 350%, control 0.08, resilience 40%, and max kg of 600. The passive is its most interesting feature. There is a 5% chance of duplicating a nearby player’s catch. That duplicated fish comes with the Shady mutation, and only you get it. The original player loses nothing, but you gain an extra fish.

Its progression speed buff is unique and brightness-based. In complete darkness, you get a plus 100% progression speed bonus. In bright areas, you take a 25% penalty. Every perfect catch with this rod also rewards you with one Shady Script, which means if you are fishing frequently, this rod can slowly pay for itself over time. We think that feature alone makes it worth grinding toward.

The Mysterious Shadow: What We Know

Inside the Bazaar, there is an NPC called the Mysterious Shadow. When you interact with it, all it says is “come back in the future” or “the day is not now.” Nobody knows exactly what this means yet. Many players speculate that it ties into the time machine from the Lullaby quest. We expect this to become a bigger part of a future update. For now, it is just a teaser worth keeping an eye on.

Is the Shady Bazaar Worth It?

We will be honest with you. If you do not have a large stash of in-game cash built up, the Bazaar will feel limited on your first visit. The main items are expensive, and earning Scripts through gameplay quests takes time. But here is the thing: that is by design. The Shady Bazaar is a long-term content hub, not a one-time event. The Shady Rod’s Script-per-perfect-catch mechanic, the Smudge companion’s passive Script collection, and the Shady Angler’s daily quests all point toward a system built for ongoing engagement. If you treat it as a currency grind rather than a quick unlock, it becomes a lot more rewarding.
