Animal Hospital just got a brand new Journal feature, and it has changed how we track our progress in the game. This codex lets us log every anomaly we spot, every NPC we meet, and every achievement we unlock. Once we clear an entry, we earn Animal Coins, which we can spend on new classes. How the Journal Rewards System Works

The Journal rewards us with Animal Coins for every entry we complete. Anomalies give smaller amounts, NPCs give a bit more, and achievements offer the biggest payouts. Together, these three sections add up to a large coin total once fully cleared. That makes the Journal one of the fastest ways to build up currency without grinding endlessly. We recommend checking it after every session, since new entries often unlock without us noticing right away.

Unlocking All 11 Anomaly Entries

Anomalies do not count until we actually interact with them. Simply spotting one on the map is not enough for most entries. We need to let certain anomalies deal damage to us or trigger their scare event before the Journal logs them.

Here is how each anomaly entry unlocks:

• Eye Mass: appears on the ceiling, and just seeing it counts.
• Ghost: let it damage you to register the entry.
• Stalker: spotting it is enough, no interaction needed.
• Mimic: allow it to attack you directly.
• Hiders: let the creature catch and attack you after it reveals itself.
• Headbanger: avoid giving it coffee and let the scare trigger.
• Cera Monster: do not avoid its scare on the cameras.
• Under Bed Monster: walk close and let it pull you under.

• Slime: let it consume you quickly to log the newest anomaly.

Two anomaly slots remain a mystery to most players right now, including the Ritual anomaly. Some players believe using bare hands instead of eye drops during the ritual event might trigger it, though this has not been confirmed. Completing the NPC Section

NPCs bring some of the more story-driven entries in the Journal. Most of these unlock simply by talking through full dialogue chains rather than skipping lines. We found that patience pays off more than speed in this section.

Barney has two opposite outcomes. We can either report him to the police officer when asked, which leads to his arrest, or refuse and complete his errand for a second coffee machine. Both choices unlock separate Journal entries, so we do not lose anything by picking one path over the other.

Ratio and Ron follow a similar pattern. We need to accept their dialogue the first time they appear and again during their final interaction. Completing Ratio’s full arc rewards us with a key that opens a secret compartment behind a poster in Room 5, revealing a hidden story entry.

Lis asks us to deliver a set of photos during her mission. Finishing this task gives an extra chocolate bar as a bonus alongside the Journal unlock. Sam, the newest NPC added in the slime update, joins us automatically after the slime event triggers, and simply accepting him in the hospital completes his entry. Dr. Arlow needs mint tea before he shares his remaining dialogue, closing out the NPC checklist.

Grinding Through the Achievement Objectives

The achievement section is the toughest part of the Journal, and it takes real time to finish. Turn-based milestones ask us to survive 10, 25, 50, and eventually 100 turns in a single run. Patient count achievements scale up too, starting at 25 patients and climbing to 500 over several tiers.

Several achievements reward specific in-game choices rather than pure survival:

• Dispose of a fainted patient in the trash instead of a bed.
• Taser a teammate at least once during a shift.
• Feed a maple item to the under bed monster to avoid capture.
• Use eye drops to extinguish ritual candles safely.
• Offer eye drops to the ceiling monster to prevent damage.
• Revive a downed teammate using the teddy bear item from the shop.
• Throw fifteen unwanted items into the trash for the Waster achievement.
• Close the window shutter on an anomaly to earn the Rejecter entry.

Some entries stay locked behind rare triggers we still cannot explain fully, including one tied to fixing security cameras and another linked to buying every item in the shop during one shift. We also spotted an achievement for scanning a ghost until it vanishes, which only works once the scanner item shows up in rotation. The rarest achievement of all asks us to find and inspect a tiny hidden anomaly that almost nobody has seen in an actual run.

Tips for Farming Journal Entries Faster

We noticed a few habits that speed up Journal completion. Keeping coffee and mint tea stocked helps us survive longer shifts, which naturally exposes us to more anomalies. Playing past shift ten increases anomaly spawn rates significantly, so rushing early shifts does not help much. Grouping achievement grinding sessions together, like tossing items or rejecting anomalies back to back, saves time compared to chasing one entry per run.

The Journal rewards consistency more than skill. Most entries unlock simply by playing normally and paying attention to prompts. Save the trickier achievements for dedicated grind sessions once you understand the anomaly patterns well. With enough shifts, the full Journal, anomalies, NPCs, and achievements together, becomes fully completable.
