Anime Expeditions Enel – How to Get and Evolve Lightning God Fast

Lightning God is the newest Secret unit in Anime Expeditions, and it arrived with the Summer Siege update. The character is based on Enel from One Piece, and it plays exactly how you would expect a lightning god to play. It hits enemies with wide-area attacks and gets stronger every time it lands a stun. That single detail changes how you should think about this unit. It is not a flat damage dealer. It builds power as the fight goes on, and by the late stages of a wave, it can be dealing three times its starting damage.

The catch is that you cannot buy your way to this unit. Gems will not get you Lightning God. No banner in the game offers it either. The only way in is through a crafted portal, and that portal demands a very specific grind. We will walk you through the whole path, plus the parts most guides skip.

How to Get Lightning God in Anime Expeditions

Getting Enel comes down to one material: Charged Dust, which only drops from a Tier 5 Sky Ruins Portal. Reaching Tier 5 takes a few stages of its own.

  • Farm the Rose Kingdom Infinite stage until a Tier 1 Sky Ruins Portal drops. The drop rate sits around 2.5%, so expect several runs.
  • Activate the Tier 1 portal and clear the challenge inside. This rewards a Tier 2 portal.
  • Repeat the same loop through Tiers 3 and 4 until a Tier 5 Sky Ruins Portal appears.
  • Run the Tier 5 portal for Charged Dust. It has roughly a 4-6% drop rate, but there is a pity system that guarantees the item by your 25th clear.
  • Head to the crafting station in the lobby and craft Lightning God’s Portal using 4 Charged Dust.
  • Enter the portal as the host and beat the challenge. Lightning God drops the moment you clear it.

That last step matters more than players expect. Hosting a Lightning God’s Portal gives a guaranteed drop. Joining someone else’s run instead of hosting your own cuts your odds down to around 2%. A lot of players lose the unit here simply because they walked into a friend’s portal instead of crafting their own.

The Fastest Way to Farm Charged Dust

Pushing your own portal from Tier 1 all the way to Tier 5 solo takes time, and there is a faster route. Once the update settles in, plenty of players already sit on active Tier 5 portals. Joining one of these lobbies lets you skip the early tiers entirely and farm Charged Dust straight away. Communities built around the game, including the official Discord, are usually full of hosts looking for extra players to fill their runs.

This shortcut only works for farming the dust itself. Once you move to the actual Lightning God’s Portal, the hosting rule kicks back in. Farm Charged Dust in someone else’s Tier 5 lobby, then craft and host your own Secret Portal. That combination saves time without costing you the guaranteed drop.

Evolving Lightning God into Its Overcharged Form

Pulling the base unit is only the first half of the job. The real version of this character is Lightning God (Overcharged), and evolving into it unlocks the Stormseeker ability along with a full kit upgrade. Here is what the evolution costs.

  • 25 Sprite (Yellow)
  • 25 Sprite (Blue)
  • 25 Sprite (Pink)
  • 3 Sprite (Rainbow)
  • 1 Ancient Bell
  • 10,000 Gold

Sprites drop from Challenge stages, and you can craft the colored versions from Sprite (Grey) if farming feels slow. Ancient Bell is not a natural drop. You need to craft it separately using 5 Sprite (Yellow), 5 Sprite (Blue), 5 Sprite (Pink), and another 10,000 Gold. Once you add that recipe to the total, you actually need 30 of each colored sprite before the evolution is complete.

Why the Voltage Meter Makes This Unit Special

The mechanic that sets Lightning God apart is the Voltage Meter. It starts at zero and climbs by one point every time the unit lands an Electricity Stun, capping at 60. Each point adds 5% bonus Electricity damage, so a fully charged Enel deals up to 300% more damage than it does the moment it lands on the battlefield.

What makes this unit self-sufficient is that it does not depend on outside support to build that meter. Its Molten Gold passive stuns nearby enemies on its own every ten seconds, and each stun feeds the meter directly. Once the meter passes 25, the Stormseeker active unlocks, letting you manually place a Storm Cloud wherever the wave is thickest instead of leaving the target random. At full charge, Tempest Discharge triggers a lightning strike that hits everything in range and leaves a residue field that keeps enemies electrified as long as they stand in it.

The unit’s attack shape also changes as you upgrade it. It starts as a circle AoE, shifts to a line at Upgrade 3, and becomes full AoE at Upgrade 9. That final upgrade is where Enel stops clearing pockets of enemies and starts locking down the entire lane.

Is Lightning God Worth the Grind

Fully upgraded, Lightning God can solo tough raid content on Hard Mode, and it sits comfortably in S Tier for the current meta. It is not the hardest-hitting Secret in the game. That title goes to Sovereign (Sinbad), the other Secret unit released in the same update, which we covered in our guide on how to get and evolve Sovereign (Sinbad) fast. What Lightning God brings instead is crowd control that runs on autopilot, cheap upgrade costs for a Secret-tier unit, and enough utility to make every other unit on your team hit harder because their targets are not moving.

If your roster is already stacked with heavy hitters that lack stun support, Enel fills that exact gap. If you are still short on raw damage, pairing this grind with the Sinbad route gives you both a control unit and a finisher, and that combination covers most of what Anime Expeditions throws at you.
