In our previous post, we mentioned about the change in the ability of the most advantageous character of Free Fire (FF), which is Chrono. There was no official statement about the actual change at that time, so we could not let you, but now we have the actual nerfs information that Chrono is getting.
Before that, if you don’t know, let us tell you that the Chrono character is the in-game representation of the famous footballer ‘Cristiano Ronaldo.’ It was introduced after an official collaboration of Free Fire (FF) with the iconic footballer.
What is the nerf in Chrono character’s ability:
Firstly let us tell you about the current special skill or ability of Chrono, that is ‘Time Turner.’ It is an Active skill that creates a force field to block damage from enemies. It allows the character to fire at outside foes from within the force field. It also increases the movement speed of the characters as well as the allies within the force field.
Since the character’s release, players were complaining about its skill being overpowered and giving an unfair advantage to players using Chrono over other characters. Finally, with the OB27 update, releasing on April 14, 2021, developers will make the following changes:

Garena is nerfing four components of the Chrono’s ability after the OB27 update:
- Increase in movement speed: At the maximum level, the increase in movement speed of character would be only 15%, instead of earlier 30%.
- Increase in allies’ movement speed: At any level, there would be no increase in allies’ movement speed within the force field. Earlier it was 15%.
- Force Field Time: At the maximum level, the Force Field duration would be for 8 seconds only, instead of earlier 9 seconds.
- Cooldown Period: At the maximum level, the ability’s cooldown period would be 170 seconds instead of earlier 40 seconds.
So the main change is being made in the cooldown period of the ability. With the new cooldown period, players would hardly be able to use it twice in a Clash Squad match.
