The Summer Camp Event is one of the most exciting updates Grow a Garden has seen in 2026. It arrived on June 6, 2026, and we have been grinding it hard since day one. At the center of all this excitement is one item we all want to get our hands on: the Campfire Egg. In this post, we break down everything you need to know, from what this egg is to how to craft it, what pets it holds, and what strategies work best for farming it fast.
What Is the Campfire Event in Grow a Garden
The Summer Camp Event is a limited-time activity where players must submit plants to a communal Campfire to keep it burning. Once the fire is lit, players can use the Campfire Crafting Table to create various items. The Campfire has five different tiers, with each tier unlocking additional crafting recipes and increasing crafting speed. If the fire goes out, any ongoing crafting is paused until it is relit.

We found this mechanic surprisingly engaging because it pushes you to be active. You cannot just log in and collect rewards here. You have to feed the fire consistently and keep it going if you want access to the best crafting options. The higher the campfire tier, the more you can craft at once, which makes maintaining that fire a top priority for us.
The highest tier in the event is called the Super Fire. Interacting with the Crafting Bench opens the Campfire Workshop UI, where all the crafting takes place.
What Is the Campfire Egg
The Campfire Egg is a mythical rarity egg that was added as part of the Summer Camp Event. It takes four hours to hatch once placed in your garden. Mythical rarity is among the highest in the game, so this egg is far from common. We treat it like a serious resource, not something to hatch casually.

What makes us really excited about this egg is its pet pool. Each pet inside it carries abilities that can directly support your garden or your campfire grind. This is not just a collector’s egg. It is a practical one with real use during the event and beyond.
How to Craft the Campfire Egg
You can obtain the Campfire Egg by crafting it at the Campfire Workshop. The crafting process takes 45 minutes. The recipe requires one Rare Egg, one Mango Seed, and one billion Sheckles.
That one billion Sheckles cost will stop a lot of players early. We want to be honest here: this egg is not cheap to craft repeatedly. You will need to grind your Sheckles hard before you can start mass-crafting these. The Mango Seed is also one of the harder materials to get, which we will talk about later in this post.
One helpful tip we want to share: prioritize unlocking higher campfire tiers before crafting eggs. Higher tiers increase crafting speed, which means you wait less time per egg. Patience in the early tiers pays off later.
Premium Campfire Egg: The Robux Option
There is also a Premium Campfire Egg available for purchase from the Limited Time Shop. It costs 149, 429, 1249, or 4999 Robux, depending on the bundle you choose.

We know not everyone wants to spend Robux, and that is completely fine. The crafted version gives us the same pet pool. But if you are in a rush or want more chances early on, the premium route is there. Just know that this is a limited-time item, so do not sit on this decision too long if you are planning to buy.
All Pets Inside the Campfire Egg
This is the part we were most curious about when the update dropped. Here is every pet you can hatch from the Campfire Egg and what each one does.
- Cicada (55% chance): Has the Summer Buzz ability. It occasionally lands on a plant and makes it grow faster for a duration. Great for active grinders who want quicker harvests.
- Newt (35% chance): Carries two abilities called Renewtal and Summer Harvester. It gives a chance to duplicate harvested plants, with a higher chance for summer-type plants specifically.
- Nightjar (9.5% chance): Uses Call of the Night. This pet consumes fruits with the Moonlit mutation and applies XP and passive boosts to a random pet. If that fruit also has Bloodlit, you get a large passive boost instead.
- Fire Wisp (0.5% chance): The rarest pet in this egg. It has two abilities: Heart of Fire, which can apply the Ember Variant to a random plant, and Fireheart, which can apply the Ember Pet Mutation to a random level 100 pet and reset that pet’s level to zero.

The Fire Wisp is clearly the crown jewel here. That 0.5% chance is brutal, but the Ember Pet Mutation ability is unlike anything else in the game right now. It is the kind of pet that changes how you build your setup entirely.
The Nightjar is underrated in our opinion. If you are already running a Moonlit farm, this pet stacks passive boosts onto your other pets automatically. That passive synergy adds up over a long session.
How to Farm Materials for Campfire Egg Crafting
Getting one Campfire Egg is satisfying. Getting ten is the real grind. Here is how we approach material farming to stay consistent.
The Mango Seed is your biggest bottleneck. The Arctic Fox method works well here. You need one lion, one peacock, two griffins, one hot dog dashing pet, and three Arctic Foxes. This setup lets you restock the seed shop infinitely when you have 24 or more plant types in your garden. Use an auto clicker at the seed shop, and you will accumulate mango seeds quickly. Do this now before the developers nerf this method.
For Sheckles, the magpie method remains one of the most efficient in the game. Plant over 300 tomato seeds in one spot, surround them with horseshoe magnets or pancakes, then use a Cockatress with a mimic octopus to apply the silver mutation. After that, harvest with a Pack B team holding seven ruby squids for maximum inventory capacity. Use three or more magpies plus silver monkeys when selling. The silver monkey ability gives you a chance to get the fruit back when you sell, so you keep rolling that income loop.
For eggs used in crafting, the bearded dragon method still holds up. Plant sugar apples and giant pine cones, use one bearded dragon with a mimic octopus, and leave it overnight. You will wake up to a solid stockpile.
Our Take on the Campfire Egg
We have been playing Grow a Garden through multiple major events, and the Summer Camp Event feels different to us. The crafting system gives us something to work toward every session instead of just passively farming. The Campfire Egg sits right at the core of that loop.
If you are a free-to-play player, focus on Sheckle farming first, then prioritize the Arctic Fox setup for mango seeds. Do not rush to craft this egg at Tier 1 because the slower crafting speed there wastes your time. Push to higher campfire tiers with your server first. Then start your egg crafting runs.
The Fire Wisp is worth chasing, but do not burn out over the 0.5% odds. The Newt and Nightjar are genuinely useful pets that will serve you well throughout and beyond this event.
