How to Get the D.R.E.D Rod in Fisch – Dr. Anton Quest, Stats and Passive Guide

The D.R.E.D rod is one of the newest rods in Fisch. It arrived with the Venue Encore update. Dr. Anton gives it out at the Underground Music Venue, but he makes us earn it first. The quest chain has four stages, and the third one tests our patience. This guide covers every step, the prep that saves time, and the final stats. If you also chase other Venue rewards, check our Oppressor rod guide for another strong option.

What Is the D.R.E.D Rod in Fisch

Dr. Anton’s quest line rewards you with the D.R.E.D-7 rod. It does not look like a normal rod. It uses a dual-bar minigame and can catch two fish at once. That makes the rod feel different from almost everything else in the game.

The quest asks for fish, items, and a few timed tasks. You need Level 800 to reach the first shop step. Most players should expect a long session, so we suggest stocking up on totems and potions before you start.

How to Get the Power Source

Dr. Anton starts with a simple request. He wants one Power Source for his experiment. You buy it from Sophisticated Glorp in Roslit Bay. The shop sits near the spot where you get the Blade of Glorp rod. A GPS makes the trip easy.

Here is how the purchase works:

  • Activate the D.R.E.D quest with Dr. Anton first. The purchase option stays locked until you do.
  • Catch fish with the Gleebous mutation.
  • Talk to Glorp and sell those fish for Glorp Bux.
  • Open the shop and buy the Power Source for 55 Glorp Bux.

A glitch potion makes the Gleebous grind much easier. Bring a few before you head out.

Quest Two: Electrified and Cursed Fish

Dr. Anton next wants electrified fish. After that, he asks for nine cursed fish. This stage feels slow, but it stays simple.

For the electrified fish, we like the Stellar Melody rod. It duplicates catches, which speeds up the count. Add the Storming enchant and fish during rain. A Shell of Fortune and a glitch potion also help, because they keep the progress counting even without a perfect catch.

The cursed fish need a Cursed Storm Totem. Use the totem, then fish inside the storm area. Players report two good spots. Some fish in the pool near Terrapin, and others fish in the square under the pumpkins at Snowcap. If one spot feels dry, try the other. Bring at least a dozen totems, because the count adds up fast.

Quest Three: The Four Hunt Fish

This is the hardest stage. Dr. Anton asks for four special catches:

  • A shiny or sparkling Stormy Colossal Blue Dragon
  • A shiny or sparkling Colossal Ancient Dragon
  • An Obsidian Frostworm
  • A Soul Touched Leviathan

We recommend a clear order. Start with the dragons, because they are the easiest. Then move to the Frostworm. Save the Leviathan for last, since it spawns rarely and takes the most time.

For the Blue Dragon, you need the Stormy mutation. You get it with the Wind Elemental and Water Elemental enchants. Rain adds an extra 20 percent, which pushes the chance close to 50 percent. A Tempest Totem helps there. Add a sparkling or shiny totem, plus a Cosmic Relic, to raise the odds for the second mutation.

The Ancient Dragon needs the Ignis rod. Pair it with the Ancient Construct relic and the same totems. Both dragons use the Colossal Dragon Hunt Totem to spawn.

The Frostworm lives in the cave at Boreal Pines. It spawns more easily in winter, but you can still force it out of season. Use the Plague Reaver rod with insta bait to spawn it. Then switch to the Chasm Stalker rod with Obsidian bait, which adds 10 percent mutation chance. An Eclipse Totem gives plus four disturbance, and an Aurora Totem helps the final catch.

The Leviathan spawns at the Cultist Lair sanctum near Terrapin. Spawn it with the Plague Reaver again. Then switch to the Hades Soul Scythe for the Soul Touched mutation. Luminous Lava bait and Luminous Larvae both help here. Watch the minigame closely.

One useful insight: do not waste enchant relics on the wrong rod. Check each requirement before you spawn anything.

Quest Four: Battery Casings and Data Banks

Dr. Anton now asks for five battery casings. They come as a rare catch. After that, a timed scanning challenge begins.

You must scan several data banks across the map before the timer ends. Locations include Snowcap, Mushgrove, and a few more. The Snowcap summit takes the longest to reach. Plan your route before you press start.

Some players saw missing markers or a skipped first scan. If that happens, keep moving and recheck the quest tracker. Speed potions and a fast boat also help. Scan everything, return to the venue, and claim the rod.

D.R.E.D Rod Stats and Passive

Here are the stats you get:

  • Lure Speed: 145 percent
  • Luck: 255 percent
  • Control: 0.22
  • Max Weight: Infinite
  • Progress Speed: 30 percent
  • Disturbance: 3

The passive adds the Unstable mutation. It also adds Reality Torn, so you can land two mutations on one fish. The dual bars act like magnets, and you must connect them. When they align, you catch both fish.

Is the D.R.E.D Rod Worth It

The stats look strong, and the duplicate fish feature is fun. Still, we do not see it as a top five rod. Top 10 feels fair for now. The minigame also takes practice, so it may not suit everyone.

We suggest chasing it if you love mutation hunting or want a new playstyle. If you want other Venue options, our Xorcist rod guide covers another quest-based rod worth a look.
